Hi y'alls. So, as some of you know, I'm applying to teach in South Korea. I've run into some unexpected financial obstacles and am feeling REALLY anxious that the whole thing is going to fall through. I need to purchase an airline ticket and have enough money to sustain myself for a month-ish until my first paycheck. The flight gets reimbursed in my first paycheck. BUT the cost of applying, what with overnighting documents internationally, medical exams, etc. really has me stretched pretty thin. AND I've been on unemployment for so long that I need to apply for the emergency extension thingy and I don't know if I'm at risk of losing it altogether.

Can someone do a reading for me? I'm open to whatever your specialty is.

My question is: Am I going to be able to financially pull off moving to Korea in April?

I just need a little reassurance to calm my frazzled nerves.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!1

My first thoughts were a grandmother figure but maybe not so much your own grandmother. Do you have a friend with a grandmother who can help? I will get my tarot deck and do a spread for you in a bit.

I pulled out 3 cards but decided to pull another 3 to get a better grasp of the situation.

1. the empress
2. the lovers
3. strength

4. the emperor
5.the magician
6 the star

what the cards are showing a feminine figure, maybe even a past lover who can possibly help thru a mother/grandmother..maybe even a relative who is female. strength shows you will find the resources, but it wont be as easy, but your inner strength to make it happen, will work in your favor. 4,5 past events passing. 6 is the star, which is like a wish coming true. i think this card is a good omen for positive outcome.

birdy Thank you!

I still have both grandmothers, though they're both advancing through various stages of dementia/alzheimers. I don't know that I'm familiar with any friend's grandmothers and I haven't been on the best of terms with my ex. The first thing I was thinking to do was to ask my dad if I could borrow the money and pay him back, since I'm getting reimbursed. He has a history of being... difficult, though. I'm also worried that if he stays true to form and gives me a hard time that I might blow up and sever ties with him completely. (But that's getting off topic a bit.) However, whenever he does something ****** , if I tell his sisters/my aunts, they are really good at making him do the right thing. So maybe one of them could be the feminine figure? Deep down I feel like I'll do it one way or another, but I'm a Cancer Sun, Mercury, Mars and Virgo Moon, so worrying is my forte, haha.

Thank you again! You've eased my anxiety a bit.

She's kinda strapped, financially. And if I asked her it would be the end of the world as we know it, ya know?

The Universe has a way of rewarding noble actions. Teaching ESL to South Koreans = noble action.

That's fine. If he would do something like that to help me out it would go a long way in motivating me to keep our relationship alive. I'll just tell him it's an investment. If he invests $800, he'll get that money back in about 2 months and will also have at least one of his offspring willing to take care of him when he's an old geezer.

ROTFL.

If you have a Cappie dad, he'd be THRILLED to hear that.

Wow, an unsympathetic Pisces? What times do we live in... :shakes head:

Keep up the positive attitude though. I know it helps.

I still haven't even heard back about my application. I'm supposed to leave at some undisclosed time in April, but I haven't been notified if I'm officially accepted or not. I'm not gonna start begging my dad (or anyone else) for money until I have an employment contract, so who knows. I don't think Mercury Rx is helping matters.

There was another Cancer on this board who went through a similar process. She was also from NYC. Will try to dig up her threads about it. I think she changed her username too, which won't help matters.

Opps, I found her. I think she got married and stayed in the US instead.

I'm rooting for you, Fondue. You'll find a way.

UPDATE!

So, I'm supposed to leave on Monday. I haven't booked my ticket yet because I don't have the money. I emailed my dad last week and he never responded. (See the telephonophobia thread...) I called him today and got sent to his voicemail. A fun twist in all of this is that I owe like $500 in taxes this year. Even if I get someone to cover my flight for me, I don't know if I'll have enough money to realistically survive my first month in Korea. If my nerves were frazzled before, they're completely shot now. I really don't know what to do and am very close to just calling the whole thing off and hiding under my bed for the next six months. In other words, I'm a wreck.
