Empress hi! ok let's try this...You are indeed Jupiter in a detriment house/sign, i think this shows you are really concerned about this/thinking about this a lot. He is indeed Mercury in the 8th house. Mercury is seperating from Jupiter though. Not ideal. There is however a promising applying Quintile from Moon(him) to Jupiter(you). The Moon is ruled by Neptune in the 3rd house. Neptune is exalted(it's own sign). That's good. hmm However the Moon in a cadent house is not ideal + sign of Pisces (deception, hiding something)?
If if we take communication (3rd house) in account ... the traditional ruler Saturn is exalted in libra+dignified in 10th that would be good, there is an applying quincunx with Moon+Saturn , applying is good, quincunx unpredictable.
It's very hard to tell. i think he may not be telling you the whole truth? The main significators Jupiter+Mercury are unfortunately seperating. I'm sorry, you know i'm just learning, i could totally be wrong!!
