I totally inderstand your second thought about the cutting-off of your friend. I feel it. It's very rare that I cut off in two a question asked by someone so I take as a sign. It would be an easy answer.

I divided the reading in two questions :
1) have you been right to cut him off ?
2) Is a reconciliation a positive thing for you ?

For the first question I pick up the 6 of batons, the lover and 5 of baton reversed. When I saw the first card, I think immedialtely that you had a really good friendship so is there really a reason for ending it. And then the lover which is not really the card of love here but of the choice which mean it could go either way : bad or good. And the last card give us the answer : a bad one. I don't speak about you and you choice of ending your friendship. But about the choice of your friend. This choice od his was like betraying you, it's very clear and it was hurtful. I even feel like that maybe on some level you feel like you could bear part of the responsability of his action even if you were not at all responsible.

So is there was reason to cut him off ? yes

In the future, will it still be the case or could you form again your friendship like before ?

Iam inclined to say yes it was a good decision on your part (heirophant) but it was hastily made.You were ill prepared to make this decision. I think in time, you will prolly end up patching things up with this friend unfortunately.

Hmm.. well i think the 7 of swords upright describes exactly what he did with me.. he lied to me over and over in a very very sneaky way.. i let him do it and when I confronted him he didn't take any responsibility or admit that he did it. It was very sneaky what he did thinking he can get away with it but he didn't.. he got caught. I'm not sure if its forgivable.. i'm still trying to think if i was. When you say you think we are going to patch up and you say unfortunately do you mean its not a good decision you think?

From the looks of your cards the one that pops up the most to me is the 2 of cups rx. Feelings of loss. The cups rx are dumping their water (emotions) to quench the fire of the wands (rx) and with the swords rx, its like a mental defeat. Tired of talking... So yes it wouldnt be The best decision, but the tricky one is the Heirophant. Tradition. The friendship wont be as easy to drop as you might expect. The history between your friendship is what will get in the way... The reason why it was an ill made decision on your part, because it was an emotional reaction ( cups rx) The lack of pentacles in your reading indicate to me that you will go one more round with him.
