Novembermuse, whenever I do a card reading, I also do a visual to see what spirit wants me to know about this person and their query. For some reason, all the visuals I received when trying to get answers on your query were about my project, however; they were clear that there was a reason for that.

I pulled three Angel Cards first. The Angel Cards were:

I am sorry for what you are going through. I know how hard this is for you.

The most important message here is to learn how to "let go". When you learn to release what is troubling you and let it go, send it off to the universe, it will either come back to you healed or something new will present itself and wash away the troubled past. When you cling to something that is not working, you only hold on to what is not working and that can never provide you with happiness.

You've experienced a big emotional trauma and you need to rest (4 of Swords) not only your body but you need to rest your mind and stop thinking about the trauma (let it go). If you continue to dwell on the trauma, your feelings will revert back to the dismal outlook of the 3 of Swords. You are represented as the Four of Swords here and this is a period where you need to gather your inner strength and reevaluate the faulty thinking that led to the disaster of the Three of Swords. During this period you become receptive to higher energies and this allows the conflict within to end.

Covering you, your situation, is the Ace of Swords Reversed. Negative thinking manifests as pain in life's experiences. There is a need to reevaluate one's direction and motivation. Center yourself and regain poise, this is top priority and you must step back from the distressing situation. All three of the Swords cards are telling you this (4 of Swords, Ace of Swords Reversed, and the 6 of Swords Reversed . The Swords are Air and air is "thought"). Control your thoughts lest they control you. Use the inner strength and meditative skills of the praying knight (4 of Swords) to overcome negative thinking. The Ace of Swords Reversed is also an extreme need to dominate, brutality, and unreasonable expectation of others. I don’t' think this aspect of it is you. Spirit is multifaceted and the cards have many meanings simultaneously. I believe this aspect of the Ace of Swords Reversed is him and the base of the staff (Emperor Reversed) and the environment (Temperance Reversed), as well as the focus (King of Pentacles Reversed) confirms this.

Your challenge is the Queen of Wands. I'm not certain if the Queen of Wands represents a side of you or another woman. The Queen of Wands is Aries. She is "loving kindness" and devoted to the needs of family. She is very affectionate and motherly. She loves art, music, and poetry and treasures harmony in all things. She cares deeply for those in need. If this is another woman, this is what you're up against or what he wants you to be. If this is an aspect of you then the traumas you have suffered take you away from being this way and you are being cautioned to pay attention to what happens to yourself during these emotional traumas which can help you to learn how to let it go.

Your focus is the King of Pentacles Reversed. The King of pentacles Reversed is greedy and materialistic and he can treat those around him as possessions. He can either be lazy and self-indulgent or he can become obsessed with his work and burn himself out as well as those around him. It is not easy to figure out what he is thinking. He can also over extend himself and become involved in shady deals, not fulfilling his end of the bargain and/or he can be saddled with debt due to poor decisions and actions. He is Taurus afflicted.

The Veil beneath the situation, what you have within you that you need to bring to the surface, is the Death Card. This is a good card, especially when dealing with the negativity of all the surrounding cards. Death is discarding old stale ideas and ridding yourself of ineffective old emotional response patterns that create a perpetual cycle of gloom. It is growth and transition. Old negative emotions dissolve allowing for new alignments in your life. This is the power you currently possess that is buried within you, that you need to bring up to your conscious and put into practice. The Death card here will wipe away all this emotional trauma you feel and provide you with the strength to begin anew.

The past energy that you are coming out of and may already be past you is the 6 of Swords Reversed. This is the thought patterns surrounding the issue and the 6 of Swords Reversed tends to stay mirrored in negative thinking taking his/her life completely off course. Use the energy of the Death card (something that is already within you, as you have already experienced loss before and have come out stronger in the end because of it) to control your negative thinking patterns and focus on positive things. The Queen of Wands is your challenge and I suspect that card is telling you where to focus to move beyond the Ace of Swords Reversed that is smothering you at present.

The energy you are moving into and may already be in is the 10 of Cups Reversed. The 10 of Cups Reversed is impermanent relationships, emotional strain, disruption, waste, and projects disintegrating due to conflicts. It is not an easy time and I am sorry that you have to go through all of this. I so much understand and I have been there, it is difficult but it will make you stronger, wiser, more serene, more intuitive. Your guides and angels would never put you in a place where you didn't belong and throw something at you without a very good reason. Trust in what they are presenting to you and know that everything you go through in life is there to help you along your spiritual journey. These are all necessary experiences in order for the soul to learn what it is they need to learn to find truth. Our experiences in life are usually the results of prior decisions. The key is to learn from those experiences and chalk it all up to experience with a positive outlook. This is why we are here, why we go through whatever it is that we go through while here on this earth. Keep the Faith that you are right where you are supposed to be in order for you to learn what it is that you need to learn for the betterment of your inner well being.

The base of the staff or how you view the situation is the Emperor Reversed. The Emperor Reversed is aggressive and domineering. He can also be cruel and impatient. He is disorganized and has problems taking charge of a project, a deficient manager. He is confrontational, sarcastic and territorial. Draw your mind away from this energy and release all of your fears up to God and the angels. Don't dwell on this person and don't allow it to tug at your being and bring you down.

The environment of the issue is Temperance Reversed. He is intolerant of opposing opinions. He is opportunistic and insensitive to the feelings of others. He is self-righteous. He's also restless and always looking for stimulation. He is excessive in what he does, whatever it may be. He does not take life's tests well and refuses to look within.

The advise/hopes/fears here is the Tower. The Tower is upheaval in it's most significant form. It is a disruption in the present that forces an individual to look within and reexamine one's attitude. It is very sudden change. The truth is exposed with shattering consequences, or a comment made by someone that force's you to look inside your heart for truth. The Tower shatters an existing structure. The Tower is a rupture in a relationship that sheds light on the reality of it all. Or the Tower is one's heightened awareness AFTER the initial jolt leading to a more spiritual attitude. This is a person and/or situation that is totally caught off-guard, the ego is knocked off it's pedestal.

The outcome is the Queen of Pentacles Reversed. She is obstinate and fears taking any sort of risk yet she is constantly and restlessly unhappy. She can be "jaded" and cold. She is pessimistic and is often gloomy. She is the polar opposite of the Queen of Wands (which is your challenge). She can also be the type who is excessively ambitious and neglects loves ones. She will also take advantage of the weakness of others to get her way. She is condescending. The Tower shatters all this and brings about a new perspective.

The 12th Card, one that can be used in a variety of ways is "X The Wheel of Fortune." This card reminds us, especially when surrounded by negative cards, that THINGS CHANGE. The pictorial representation of this card shows all forms engaged in study. This is growth and expansion of thought. Confident expectation. Acceptance of circumstances and adapting to change (XIII Death). It is movement and understanding a situation better through observation and study. It is ENTHUSIASM for a project (looking within and learning new ways of dealing with things). This is where stability is gained through aspirations, love, wisdom, and a well grounded frame of mind. This is a GOOD card with beneficial outcomes.

I always take into account the energy of the last card on the bottom of the deck and this is the 9 of Pentacles. She is "Accomplishment". She is enjoyment of the good things in life - positive outlook. Personal goals achieved and pleasure from one's accomplishments. She also indicates a consciousness that is willing to struggle. She represent a balance between opposing forces within. Don't be too critical, especially of yourself, for then you will never be satisfied. She enjoys the fruits of her labor (efforts to create an atmosphere of harmony) but does not become satiated and over-indulge in her own self-worth. She balances herself between being overly critical of herself and being overly indulgent in her own importance. She maintains integrity and poise.

The three face cards in the shuffle simply say it's time to let go. The 4 of Pentacles Reversed can also indicate money troubles and poor financial decisions but with the Death card and Strength, I don't think that is the case. This is more a person who is stressed out from over working, neurotically driven. They are willing to step on others in order to achieve their goals (this is your Queen of Pentacles Reversed). The Death card next to her followed by Strength shows an ending to that neurotic drive and the beginning of "reciprocity". Strength tames unruly passions gently with intelligence. Strength is also an indication to examine one's thought processes, the motivation behind their actions and the behavior that follows. This is a learned lesson here. 5 of Cups Reversed flipping out? Yeah! Hope and confidence restored. Letting go of past pain and rediscovering what is right about your life. You did it!(or soon will). This is someone who is becoming less depressed and is feeling relief from all that emotional trauma. You are beginning to realize what you have instead of dwelling on what you don't have. Kudos to you!

The angel cards are reaffirming to trust and to release your fears. See the world through the enchantment of a child where all is wonder and joy. In this, you will find your soul mate, whether Josh returns after you've completed your inner journey (and he his for he has a lot to work out too) or if it is someone new. Freedom guides you to freely express your true thoughts and feelings with love. You feel trapped by life's conditions but you must realize that you are the only jail keeper in your own life. It's all about choices. Choose to be free and trust your intuitiveness, not your wants and desires but what spirit is telling you. Sometimes we want something so bad we can't hear the messages. This is where the 4 of Swords seeks rest and quietude in order to hear those messages.

I believe the cards are telling you to let him go. Stop thinking about him the way you do for it is dragging you down. Release all your fears up to the universe and let them heal. Trust in your place on the path. Focus on your family and your inner peace, and the rest will work itself out on it's own.

The Queen of Pentacles Reversed will step on others in order to get to the top, and since you also had the King of Pentacles who gets involved in shady deals, and the Emperor who is a deficient Manager ... well, I'm wondering if some of this is work related?
