I can see the negative aspects of his psyche- he blows hot, he blows cold. When it comes time to make a commitment, he runs away. He will say things that he never plans to do, making him look like a hypocrite. But knowing all of this, I am still not able to let go of him. We have this back and forth dance that never seems to have a resolution. I am willing to try anything to make it work but it somehow seems like anytime he faces strong emotions he has to run away from it.

What aspects in his chart make him do that? How is it that it seems only the aspects in my chart are activated by his and he never feels anything for me( he always walks away, comes back, true but he is willing to give all this up so easily)?

Just kidding. In a way it is as simple as interpreting metaphors and symbols in literature.
My thinking has always been more symbolical than literal/ linear/practical, so I guess taking up astrology was just a field naturally suited to how I process things and perceive the world.

If he truely loves you and is ready to love you, he will come back on his own and stay.
If he doesn`t truely love you or is not ready for this kind of love, there`s nothing you can do to "make him ready".
It might simply not be your time right now. And with this dance and struggle you just prolong the pain.

I`d say: change the rules of the game, by setting him free, and really mean it.
Either he will be back with you in no time, if he realizes you are serious about moving on, or he will be out of the door for good.

But then again, I am not exactly an expert in relationships and should better keep my mouth shut.
