How do you view them? Does it have to be viewed together like the solar return chart, or could it be viewed by itself like a birth chart (without your natal chart)?

Which one is the one that counts??

I look at the natal+progressed chart on astrodienst, it's much more accurate. If you view the progressed chart alone it won't really tell you much. Natal+progressed tells you how the progressed planets are interacting with your natal planets & in which houses these planets are moving in your natal chart.
I personally like looking at the natal+progressions+transits chart
