hello saaannddd,I can't resist this one. I remember you asked before about would you be leaving Asia. Others said it, and I thought so too, I don't think you will or not for quite some time.
However, you will journey too a very cold place but its still in Asia. Russia in fact.
When I look to where, then the word Perestroika was prominent, but this is not a city or a place. However a significant speech was apparently made by Gorbachev in Leningrad in 1985. I think Leningrad, or St Petersburg is the City.
I drew cards asking what city will you go to and these are the cards:
Queen of pentacles
Five of cups
Queen of wands
This suggests a key factor of the city is that it has like a drawing out of something from the centre, like as if chewing gum was pulled from a big wad in the centre. And there is a feel that the city centre has a cold absence of people feel. In fact the centre has a huge square at the winter palace and there is this tall column that is drawn up out of this central place.
When I ask for cards that indicate the name of the city I get these cards:
Nine of wands
Seven of wands
Two of wands
This means that part of the name is separate from the others and then there is two parts that make up the other part.
On another level, it is talking of a town or fortress that was constructed with a defence.
The city was named after Tsar Peter the Great but it also relates much to St Peter of the apostles.
And probably you could read several different other facets of the city into the cards. Tarot is very versatile once you get a hint to lead you in further.
So the name of the city in St Petersburg, rather than Leningrad, though no doubt Leningrad would be covered by those same cards, but I am focusing on St Petersburg as the name. And because of the complexity of symbols, the universe and everything, the similarity of Perestroika, to the name St Petersburg in terms of linguistics and meanings just thoroughly fascinates and enthralls me with the knowledge that the world, the universe, and everything is so mysterious and miraculous.
Perestroika was about reforms and restructuring, and you can read this into the cards that describe the city as well, and encompasses St Peter and his connection to the new testament, the new approach.
St Petersburg is a federal city or federal subject of Russia which means it is part of the russian federation. Some key word combinations of those three cards are:
sticking with
resisting
together
and as you can see this is about sticking together to reform things, as a federation might do, as St Peter of the Apostles might have done. Perestroika was about new reforms, and St Peter was about the new testament, both were about new approaches to what to believe in and what the common cause or goals were. And the city has a long history connected to reformation.
So aside from this breakdown of the cards, I immediately had an impression that it had the potential to be 'freezer'-like in coldness, and that a welcome way for you to warm up was by swigging little glasses of clear 'hot' liquid which would give a spreading warmth of positive enjoyment and socialisation - so yes, vodka shots look a strong possiblity, though I don't want to give you any suggestions that might lead you astray. And also there is an impression of small contained water soo this fits with their being canals in the city.
When clarifying these impressions, I looked for cards to show which place, just to see what the supporting ideas were:
Nine of pentacles
Ten of wands
The Hermit
So looking at deep, almost dark, oldness with strong borders, a big place/huge expanse, and some kind of strong orthodoxy perhaps even a type of religious hermeticism, complete with pricless and numerous religious icons, and elements of pilgrimage that signify deep tenets, and austere attitudes. In fact the Hermitage is there, which is an important art museum that holds relics.
The impression, heavy wealth like gold within walls and maybe even heavy burgundy curtains, or heavy based metal statues. So something like gorgeous figurines or depictions on heavy bases and possibly even curtains drawn around them, and definitely there are the heavy bronze statues present in the city. So I could also imagine a painting with gold foil on wooden panels with big old heavy curtains to be drawn over the ornate panelling.
So again many levels. The cards can indicate a distinct country that is very expansive and resting on other countries, perhaps even putting a kind of pressure on the surrounding countries on its borders.
Or on another level, people were controlled for a long time and not free. Some of the key words to these cards are,
Freedom
Oppressed
Ages
or
Independence
squashed
in Privacy, or behind something,
so maybe reference to the lack of freedom behind the iron curtain.
Then when I look at just the last way you have phrased your question, as in 'where':
Ten of swords
Knight of cups
The Fool
So this is like a strict environment that will not suffer 'fools'. So on one level this may point to somewhere where people are very serious, and maybe methodical and they don't like to seem frivolous.
On another level, they were against capitalism, which may seem wasteful. There may not have been a big emphasis on lots of choice when it comes to clothing and generally for most people, clothing needs to be more substantial and not flimsy. Though it is changing there now.
And with the same cards, the impression is people once were made to be all the same. So dress was practical and was attempted to make everyone the same so that no one stood out, so again that freedom to be an individual was suppressed. Art, creativity, and lightheartedness was suppressed, and it would have definitely carried other ideas of the cards such as being stabbed in the back, and things not as they seem, and maybe a bit wacko and extreme sometimes, where an air of mistrust and suspicion predominated.
And ultimately, this would all tie in with St Petersburg having been Leningrad, the heart of communist Russia.
In tarot explanations, the ten of swords has water not too far away - and St Petersburg is an important port on the Baltic Sea at the head of the gulf on Finland. The Baltic Sea can be described as 'brackish' and this connotation can be picked up in the ten of swords with the imagery. And the knight of cups may pertain to the significant feature of the city experiencing 'white nights' in the summer months due to its postion in the northern hemisphere.
Lol, so after that cheery explanation do you think you will go there?
It seems you could want to go there for the girls as well as study. I googled and it is possible for foreigners to study there. And I think you have a handle on a couple of languages perhaps, or are good at languages, or maybe you are good at winging it.
You like the looks of Russian girls, I think, and you might even be able to stay at someone's place and not pay a lot for accommodation. Heads up - you will have to keep up with the drinking with the family to be accepted - apparently this is part of fitting in - and apparently a test of a survivor/strong character - which seems ingrained in their culture.
It seems, such an adventure, would give you a bit more time before having to make some definite decisions about what you are going to do with your life.
It seems a long way from the Philippines though, can it be possible that this would be where you would go?
However, I definitely think St Petersburg is the city put forward.
