So my question is: will I pass my oral defense? Please tell me your feedback and input about this matter! If I make sone mistakes, please do correct me. This chart has a Virgo ascendant, so Mercury is my ruler. Pretty fitting for a student like me, plus this oral defense is for our thesis work which involves lots of writing (virgo quality) XD Again, I am not too sure if the moon is VoC or if it is making major aspects (an opposition to saturn, trine to pluto and sextile to mercury). If it isn't VoC, I think that I will be put in a challenging position, since Mercury is in its fall even if it just turned direct (it's at home in the sixth so maybe that lightens things up a bit?). It's also squaring Professor Jupiter in the 9th, which fits well with the situation since Gemini rules oral communication and this is an oral defense, after all. It is however, making a sextile to the moon. Then, there's another but. Although the moon which is my co-significator is exalted by sign, it's in a weak position by house. It's also opposing Saturn in Scorpio, which is the original sign in the 8th. And another but, the moon is trining Pluto, which is the original co-ruler of Scorpio/8th house. Soooo, I am pretty much confused with the overall outcome of this situation. Thoughts are welcome!

I think you are making it too difficult. Go with the planets first - they usually have the answer. You - Virgo - Mercury (retro) - 6th House Pisces, 5 57 Question - Pisces - Jupiter - 9th House Gemini, 9 23 Do they aspect? Yes, but the aspect is separating in 3 counts. So what happened in the past? You - Moon - makes minor aspect to Jupiter in 2 counts - so likely you will be fine. *unless its VOC here, @Hera will hopefully clarify. Now, before you get into other planets and their aspects - where you are confused. I would go into debility and dignity to further confirm the yes answer, which you have started to here, but not very clearly. Write out each step. Here's a nice website to help (on the next pages, there is a point system that further clarifies, as well.) http://www.skyscript.co.uk/dig2.html Good luck with the chart and the oral! IP: Logged |

(this is just more for fun, I've been studying Sabian and this is the ascendant reading for the chart - thought it would be relevant in a defense, i.e. needing to be ORIGINAL (expressionist) yet still being bounded by TRADITION (painter).)PHASE 159 (VIRGO 9°): AN EXPRESSIONIST PAINTER AT WORK. KEYNOTE: The urge to express one's individualized sense of value regardless of tradition. At this stage the individual is seen reacting against cultural standards and stereotyped ways of interpreting his perceptions. This is a statement of uncompromising self-reliance, which may even imply a kind of defiance and a challenge to society. The mind is seeking to discover the character of the basic and true foundation of individual selfhood, the AUM tone (or logos) of individual being. In the process, however, what is expressed is usually the reflection of a deep catharsis with emotionally charged and often tragic overtones. This fourth stage symbol brings to us the hint of a technique of transformation of the personality. What predominates is a sense of inner conflict and an over-selfconscious attempt at "being oneself." But there is a great difference between being an origin of development pregnant with futurity, and deliberately sought for ORIGINALITY. IP: Logged |

Why is the question Jupiter? I think Venus ruler of 9th house - higher education would be more appropriate [but Venus is combust..not a good sign..] and/or Moon. Lunae check this calendar (time & date) to see if moon is VOC. Edit: Nevermind, Moon exalts in Taurus - can't be VOC there. http://www.astroprofile.com/2013moonvoid.htm IP: Logged |

Thank you for the input and the link, imeanj! Well, the initial proposal didn't turn out great. I hope this time, the defense will. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I just want to pass and graduate! lol XD Oh btw, I did not notice that Mercury was still in rx.. I thought it turned direct. My eyes were playing with me @.@ IP: Logged |

Oh yeahhh. Venus is combust being in a 3 degree orb conj with the Sun. @.@ So.. that means that the situation (question at hand) is somewhat shaky? Because I have read that if the querent's significator is combust, it represents fear, anxiety or maybe someone overpowering the querent. But if it's the question that's combust, what does it really mean? IP: Logged |

You're welcome, anytime! And Mercury is still retrograde until the 17th. IP: Logged | |
