Hello everyone,

If anyone can help me understand an aspect please?

3rd house among others represnts bothers and sisters. How can a natal chart revel the existance of 1 sibling if the 3rd house is emty and ruled by saturn(capricorn)

major aspects made by saturn:
mercury(ruler of the 8th and 11th) sextile saturn
venus(ruler of the 7th and 12th) sextile saturn
AC(scorpio) conjunct saturn

Thank you

Hi Crys

So even though 3H has to do with siblings, the number of planets in there (or not in there) doesn't indicate the "number" of siblings you'll have--just because it's empty doesn't mean you won't have a brother or sister, just as if there were 5 planets in there it wouldn't mean you would have 5 siblings.

I'm not very familiar with the way charts can "reveal" the number of siblings, but I do know how to look at a chart to indicate the potential for the number of children one might have and the children's genders. Is this your chart you are trying to read to see if you'll give your child a sibling, or are you reading your chart and confused by why your sibling is not present in it?

EDIT: also, is Saturn in your 1H or 12H?

Yeah, I don't think natal charts can reveal the number of siblings. They can, however, show you what your relationship with your siblings might be like. For example, this person's 3H is ruled by Cap and Saturn is conj. Scorpio ASC.

Is Saturn in 12H or 1H?
Is Saturn in Scorpio as well? Or Sag?

Something that strikes me is that your quest here is to figure out why you don't see a sibling in the chart if you know one exists...hypothetically, if Saturn is in 12H and Scorpio, it would indicate that this person's relationship with their sibling could be somewhat hidden or secretive, and that the sibling might not be something s/he talks about a lot or even knows much about his or herself (a mysterious theme to their relationship is heavy with this placement). This parallel is unusual to me, given that you're questioning the actual presence of a sibling as "hidden" or not manifested clearly in the chart. Some food for thought I suppose

I mostly agree with calliope. I can't see where in my chart how many siblings I have, but the 3H cusp ruler and its aspects tell me everything about my very erratic relationship with my half-siblings (Uranus rules the 3rd).

However, Saturn ruling the 3H WOULD mean to me that the native has just a few siblings OR very limited communication between siblings. Saturn in soft aspect with Mercury-Venus means that over time, a loving, communicative relationship can develop. Conjunct the ASC again means to me separation, limited contact with the individual.

In Scorpio, there is secrecy, especially since Saturn's in the 12th. Was there a long-term or mysterious illness in the sibling? Or like calliope said, a lost sibling, i.e. born out of wedlock. For example, I could see where the native's sibling was kept hidden (12H) and on a deeper level, ineligible (Saturn) to receive benefits or any kind of inheritance (Scorpio) from the native's father.

NO none of those.

Thank you for your interpretation
