If you want to know about the current development (potentially) of a relationship, you would need to check the progressed charts and transits to the natals and progressed as well.

I am not sure how astrology will be able to answer your question though. As it only shows potential and how your energies mesh. But each person still can make the decision how to express (or not express) the energies.
Though the stronger and tighter the interconnection, the more instant the reactions seem to be often.
