Few questions ... How long have you been asking it? How long do you think it took before you got the hang of it? What do you recommend as the best starting deck?

I'm almost 2 years practicing, and I started with The Mythic Tarot, try to know the stories from the deck and you'll know their meaning. I do a general reading every weekend to see what's coming for the following week.

1. Started last year in June and stopped in November. In the period where I didnt do any reading I dreamt the cards a lot calling me back. I went back. I started doing readings again in November this year.
2. Don't understand this question.
3. Rider Waite Classic. Its the best for beginners and not only.

I shall mention this: not everyone has the calling for tarot or any other divination method. Also tarot doesn't always show the future but the messages you receive can be guidance. (In my unfortunate case tarot always show the future).
Don't do tarot asking the same question over and over again. I did that and was the worst mistake of my life.
Don't do tarot when you are tired.
Don't let others touch your cards. Only when cards must be shuffled. Otherwise NOT.
Buy some crystals for cleasing them and protect your energy against the unwanted ones. I will do that too when I will have money.
If in the beginning you feel the message the cards is giving you is not accurate, don't get scared, the querent emotions may not be the proper ones for the reading. The querent must be tired, emotional or confused and cards even if they don't lie can get confused too. Good luck.
