What helps you to get over someone?

How do you convince yourself that someone better is in your future?

How do you get past those fears that the next one won't x or y like the last person?

Just thought I'd get some opinions. Everyone on LL has so much wisdom.

It's SO much easier said than done, but you cry for a week or two. Then, you kind of keep yourself busy in a sense. Focus on your friendships, what YOU want to accomplish.
And you two obviously didn't work for a reason. If you're leaving a person behind, it's because you weren't meant to go to that next step. You were destined to be with the person that's BETTER for you.
And as for the fears, that's why as we mature and continue to date we learn how to identify the qualities in people that are not meant for us. Pain is also temporary. It's NOT the end of the world. You'll never know unless you try. It's a risk, but hopefully, looking at the man or woman you're MEANT to be with, it'll be worth it.
However, there's SO much more to focus on than some man. You have your own kingdom to build up. Have more to brag about than the man standing next to you.
You'll be fine!

its hard getting over somebody. but its always mutual and never one sided. and you will look back and think whatever did i see in them if they are not your soulmate and if it wasnt a good and healthy relationship or a soft place to fall relationship. and there is someone special for all of us. our soulmate. and if they are your soulmate and we only have one soulmate or twinn soul it will always be mutual love and never one sided. and soulmates will never intentionally hurt us. and its never physically abusive or verbally abusive or violence in any form. and we may have many loves and great loves and seem like soulmates at first but soulmates are always love at first sight and you will be madly in love with each other but it will always be mutual love. and you might be seperated temporarily but the soul knows and soulmates can never be broken up.you trust your intuition with the next person lover or partner and you prepare and wait for your soulmate. there is nothing and nobody like your soulmate. it is worth preparing and waiting for your soulmate whether in this lifetime or the next lifetime when you will reunite with your soulmate eventually even if you have many great loves and other lovers and partners. of course there is physical immortality for this lifetime and many other lifetimes in linda goodman star signs and secret codes of the universe for you to meet your soulmate. and there is linda goodman love signs for more information about soulmates. and rita hayworth on soulmates who is a physic lady diana physic and where i felt inspiration about having someone better out there and a better life on my own than with someone who was not a great love or good and kind partner. something i knew from the start when we met each other but i ignored the red flags because of unfinished grief work and i ignored my intuition to not get involved and run away as far away from the ex as there was something wrong with his head and i didnt know anything about mental illness and was new to learning about alcoholism and didnt know from what someone shared about in physc 101 that alcoholism can be a cover for mental illness diagnosed under the mental health act. and he wasnt even my type and family told me he wasnt my type but my dad had just died from cancer and i was looking for a soft place to fall. but i didnt listen to my intuition when we first met and i didnt even like him and i thought he was a pervert because he was standing there staring so much and it gave me the creeps and it was creepy. and i slammed the door. your intuition is never wrong. trust your intuition and you will never go wrong.and you can always do your composite charts with your next relationship a good beginners book to do it you and your next partner or lovers chart is linda goodman relationship signs book. of course there is astro.com and someone here on linda-goodman support boards can help them with thier astro charts natal as well as composite you and your partners as well as your own chart. can do a astrology chart reading and give some insight into your own chart as well as your future partners chart. just ask. you will be okay. there is so much help and support on linda-gooman.com website. and astro.com is a good place to start for beginners in astrology for a free summary of your natal chart and then you can download it on to linda-goodman.com with your astrology wheel chart and someone can do a natal or composite reading. and if you dont have your birth time for astro.com natal chart then you can put 12 noon as a rough guide for your natal chart or ask an astrologer to rectify your chart or birth records for time of birth. linda goodman group moderators can help with information about finding a good astrologer to rectify your natal chart for time of birth and other astrology information and support etc cheers. take care.

I turn to books - a book that helped me was - It's Called a Breakup Because It's Broken (http://www.amazon.com/Its-Called-Breakup-Because-Broken/dp/0767921968).

But like others say - crying is good, releasing the sadness and grief.

And then keeping yourself busy - because when you're busy you don't have time to think and over think and think again...
Volunteering is good, catching up with friends, work etc etc

what helps you get over someone. lots of crying. making a comfort space just for you to cry eat lots of chocolate and have ice cream and comfort foods in your pjs etc with your favourite doona. keeping busy redecorating your home etc. doing something creative and fun. finding something that makes you happy like for me its swimming and its relaxing. doing something that is relaxing like yoga hatha yoga etc. going out for coffee with your girlfriends. and going shopping and buying new clothes shoes handbag etc. getting a new hairstyle and classic makeup like napoleon. camping out at the beach with girlfriends and having a girls night out with sugar scrubs and chick movies lots of comedies. getting a new job and keeping busy with community groups like womens therapy groups and community stuff like sports clubs etc. and before you know it a year has gone and you have gone for that cruise planned with your friends and you have forgotten his name. be adventurous. and let the sunshine kiss your face and have fun and enjoy being with your friends and family. travel around the world in a years time and have something to look forward to. happiness is somebody to love and you can have a great love affair with yourself and be your own best friend and have something to do like your hobbies and passions and creativity and fun stuff to enjoy like art writing etc. and something to look forward to like a world trip with your family and best friend and girlfriends etc. rough it up and go on a safari or camping in the amazon or trekking in nepal in the himalayas or travel around europe. nothing is impossible. and its only limited by imagination all the possiblities and probabilities of imagination of all the possibilities in the world are only limited to what makes you happy and what happiness is to you.
