hi, I joined this forum because I need astrology advice for myself and also because I have a general interest in astrology and want to meet those who share the same interest.
For the past several years I have been dealing with an illness which has set me back personally and professionally. I'm trying to make a fresh start but don't know in which kind of profession to plunge in and I was wondering if astrology can hint towards the right direction for me. Please let me know if I should post details of my place and time of birth here.

Hi IndianGirl,

Members reply quicker when you have the charts in your message as oppose to date and time. Might want to add it and bump it up every once in a while so it stays current. :-) Good luck!

Sure! This will help.

HOW TO GET YOUR CHART
1. Go to www.astro.com . You can create a free account or enter your birth data as a guest; however, creating an account will allow you to save your information – great for trying the different charts both for yourself and for others in your life. If you don’t know the exact time of your birth, do your best to find out – it *is* important.
2. Go to “Free Horoscopes” and then to “Extended Chart Selection.”
3. “Natal Chart Wheel” is the default, but you will need to go to “House System” (under “Options” use the drop-down to change to “equal”).
4. Click on “Click here to show the Chart,” then click on the chart which will appear.
5. Right-click and save the chart to your desktop.

HOW TO UPLOAD YOUR CHART
1. Create a free account at www.photobucket.com .
2. Select “Upload Now” which will bring up “Select Photos and Videos.”
3. Navigate to your desktop and select.
4. On right, click “Save and continue to my album.”
5. When you hover the mouse pointer over the chart, you will see that a box appears with a few options. If you need to edit out your name or anything else you don’t feel comfortable sharing on the boards, “edit” is in the top band of options. Select “edit” which opens your chart and provides editing options. Go to the tab “Decorate,” and you will see a number of icons, one of which is an eraser. Erase what you need to, and click “Replace original.”
6. Saving should take you to a new screen where you can see your chart and to the right, a bank of options to “Share this photo.” Click on the IMG code, which will flash and let you know that you’ve copied the link.
7. Go to your thread, open a new post and paste your link.
8. Don’t move or delete your chart from Photobucket, because the link only goes to where the chart was saved!

Hello,

Could you please give more background information? Your chart can say a lot about who you might be, but nothing can say more than you. What have you already tried? What are your interests? What are your qualifications (although, that might be asking too much, hope not)?

Without any of that, I would probably suggest something in sales. With a Taurus Midheaven, Sun, and Jupiter, I would think that you like things to be very secure and very tangible. You like to feel secure as well and thus are probably good with finances. I can see that you have some negative aspects from Pluto and Mars, both intense masculine energies, to your Sun, Jupiter, and MC (a configuration called a T-Square), and that is perhaps why you are facing challenges in work, due to those negative energies. These challenges are entirely able to be overcome. In fact, they may even be meant to be overcome. Overcoming them will force you to grow as a person. So even though it may seem hard, there is a bright side.

Because the focal point of your T-Square is Mars, you are probably trying to resolve your oppositional conflict (Pluto Opposite MC/Sun/Jupiter) through aggressive communication. If not, then I would suggest doing so. And if so to no avail, then perhaps you should try looking inwards, channeling your negative energy from Pluto through the very spiritual Neptune.

Going back to what you should do for work, you seem like someone who enjoys communication and showmanship and could possibly do well in fields of literature, acting, or the arts. But I don't know what you feel your own strengths and weaknesses are and, for example, don't want to suggest art to someone who can't draw.

I hope this helps.

hi thanks for the reply. i would say that i like being creative, i like to write and while don't draw or paint myself i do appreciate it.

my problem is that i was diagnosed with an illness some years ago, my career suffered, though i graduated in literature it took a long time, i don't have a job and am in fact looking for fresh qualifications, so i'm willing to try something new. but finance? hmm, never thought of it.

i in fact tried to write but found it frustrating.

but what do you think about health in my chart do you think it's negative effect on my career lessening?

thanks kingofcups.

also i feel that neptune has had a diminishing effect on my life, maybe i'm wrong and it's something else indicated in the chart, but let me know your take on neptune.

Well, it doesn't have to be finance exactly. I see you as being a people person from your chart. You like to communicate whether it be through writing or otherwise. That's why I suggested sales.

Yes, writing seems like it could be a very frustrating process. Perhaps a good editor might help you to get through that process more easily.

A transit chart would probably be better for seeing if the effects of it will lessen. What I'm seeing, however, isn't necessarily health related problems. I'm seeing more that there is some kind of negative energy that you will have to overcome through your own efforts in relation to your work.

I honestly don't see why Neptune would be diminishing. It's one of the few bodies in your chart that makes no negative aspects to anything else. Could you elaborate on what you mean by diminishing?

Upon analyzing your Neptune aspects, I actually feel as though Neptune has a very positive impact on your personality. One feature that may seem problematic is its Conjunction with Saturn, but that may actually help you to bring form to your ideas as long as you discriminate between what is real and what is just an illusion.

yes it's true that i'm a)communicative b)sincere and people see that.

i've always been imaginative, a dreamer, but now i want more stability, and am trying to think more practically. so neptune isn't really the culprit, only my own perception. but what are the positive effects of neptune in my chart that you see?

and while my health isn't such a dire problem anymore, it does cast a shadow on my life.

I'll post my transits to give you a better idea.

The Sun seems to be a very prominent feature in your chart (Leo Ascendant, Sun Conjunct MC/Jupiter, other major Sun aspects, the fact that it's a light). The Sun is currently in Aquarius. Aquarius and Taurus are two signs that have a lot of tensions between each other. Once the Sun moves into Pisces in a few days, you should start to see things brighten and clear up a little. Beyond that, there doesn't seem to be any specific hardships towards you in the transits.

I honestly think that given a little bit of time, things should clear up a lot for you and your career.

Your Neptune:
Neptune is a planet of dreams, illusions, and great emotion. It promotes spirituality and even duality to an extent. Neptune in your chart is in Capricorn and Conjunct Saturn. This placement makes it so that you are able to give form to your dreams and ideas. Neptune can sometimes get lost in dreamland and never turn things into reality. Capricorn and its ruling planet Saturn are material and restrictive forces that would be able to ground your extremely creative abilities. This taking place in the fifth house only enhances your ability to take your creativity with a sense of seriousness and responsibility.

Neptune Trine Sun makes you someone who is able to absorb information and understand that information relatively quickly. It helps you to be an efficient learner. However, it makes it so that you like to work at your own pace. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but you may sometimes find it difficult to stick to a schedule. On the whole, I'd see this as a positive aspect because a lot of times, you'll be given enough time to get things done, and if you're working as an author or in literature, you should have the freedom to work on your own schedule.

Neptune Trine Jupiter makes you seem like an amicable person; people like you because of your disposition. You give off a "happy" energy. It also gives you good intuition. Act on your hunches, because oftentimes, they'll be right. And oftentimes also, they'll lead to your gain.

Thinking about it more, I think that you might want to consider giving writing another shot, and if you really can't bring yourself to go through the process, then change. I would think that you chose a literature major for a reason, and to be honest, that reason is quite obvious in your chart.

Maybe consider giving literature a break, exploring different fields, and waiting for inspiration. Don't try to force the writing. It'll come to you.

I'm reasonably new to doing interpretations, so I might be missing something, but from what I can tell, you seem to be a very talented writer who's just going through a bad phase in life.

Please let me know if my interpretations are resonating.

thanks kingofcups, it was a very positive message. it can be a double edged sword - imagination and after hearing you I can be less resentful of it I think. I do believe it is a time for putting everyday things in order and not wallow in frustration. There have been setbacks, but I know my strengths and faults.
thanks for your answer.

it is interesting what you said about my learning process. it's true, but i always thought neptune clouded the mind and mercury gave wits. at the time i can't sustain depth of study (left engineering despite good grades) and am impatient with information, at times it absorbs me and other times it irritates.

also i must mention that i'm bipolar and my depression went misdiagnosed many years and even after it has not been easy. but things are improving except when occassionally they aren't so good

You're welcome
And I guess it can be a double-edged sword but only if you let it overtake you. Try not to get lost in imagination. Dwell in it, make a vacation home in it, retreat to it, rejoice in it, but always keep a sense of reality. As the ruling planet of Pisces, that's the way I interpret Neptune actually.

Mercury is the planet of intellect, yes, but the more practical side of your intellect and also your ability to communicate yourself. Neptune is part of a deeper intellect. It is closely tied to your emotions and your dreams. And yes, Neptune is the planet of illusions. But you fight fire with fire. Likewise, positive aspects to Neptune can actually help you to see past illusions, to see things for what they really are, whereas negative aspects (which you don't have) are what cloud the mind.

A negative of Neptune is, as I said earlier, the tendency to get lost in a world of imagination, to see only what is inside of you and miss what is outside. This is what I feel to be Neptune's lesson, to see within oneself without getting lost there.

Is your impatience directed towards information that you've already received or towards tasks that you find stupid/useless/tedious/boring/mundane? That can be attributed to your Neptune aspects. Because your mind works so quickly, it doesn't like to stay stuck in the same place. It wants to move. It craves to move and keep moving. Try to use the times where information is repeated to do something more productive. For example, if your professor is teaching something and you feel like you know all of it already and know it really well, try to multitask by keeping track of the discussion to an extent but by also doing other work. I know I might be criticized for offering advice like this because it might be frowned upon by a lot of people, but if you really know everything and can get the marks to back yourself up, then I don't see why there should be any objections. And I say this from personal experience (i.e. I do this pretty often myself).

You can work through that. I'm sure that once your life starts to brighten up, your depression will start to lighten and your bipolarity will become less severe as a consequence. I don't know enough about psychology or your particular condition to tell you whether or not they can go away completely, but if you work towards it and try to keep a positive attitude, your weaknesses, your struggles, and your journey to overcoming them, can become your greatest strengths.

Well, I'm glad I helped

Unfortunately, I'm new here as well, so I can't help you with finding where politics is discussed. (I don't even know if it's a topic.) You should either ask a mod or do some searching to see.
