I don't know how accurate palmistry is, but I've heard that if the line that starts towards the bottom of a girl's left hand connects to the line that comes in from the center-left, then it'll be love, and if it doesn't, then it'll be arranged.

This is from your viewpoint, so if you hold your own left hand up so that your fingers are pointing upwards and look at it, all of the directions should make sense. There are generally 3 prominent lines on a hand. These are the bottom two.
