I'm not too sure where I'm going to be living starting May 1st

would I be able to stay in the apt that currently at, Or will I can be forced to find a new place and how is that going to go? my landlord has not renewed my lease but I have said that I wanted to stay . he hasn't told me I needed to leave but my lease ends in April. I'm at the point where I would literally stay in till he's like oh I got your check for this month what are you doing here still

..... my very very last resort would be going an hour and a half away to my brothers but it's something that I really wish I did not have to do it would be a huge inconvenience for it all.

I'm trying to find a room to rent but I only have about 400 on hand I'm not having much luck... but I have a couple more places to look at. I've decided that I'm not going to ask my friend who I just reconciled with because I don't necessarily know she's truly open to it and I don't want to deal with begging her, unless she brings it up to me then I'm all for it

can anyone see what's going to happen. TY!

feel free to leave a question and might not be able to answer it at the very moment but I will get to it

Keep paying the rent. As long as he keeps cashing your checks, he can't throw you out. If he files for eviction, it takes 30 days to get to the court and you can apply for a stay citing difficulty finding a new apartment. As long as you pay the rent, you'll be fine. He has to as you to move in writing 30 days before taking you to court. THEN, the court gives a court date another 30 days away. You can't throw someone out with a "what are you still doing here". GTFOH.

Why don't you want to ask your friend? I think you had many positive readings saying she'll say yes and she would be happy to share the cost with you...

If you ask her the worst she can say would be no, and then you'll be at the same position... so you won't lose anything..

At least if you rent with her you'll be able to save some money as well... =/

Anyway good luck, it must be very stressful!

Then he has to give you 30 days to move out. In NJ, you must have a valid reason: renovation, landlord plans to move in, the building is being condemned, you're causing a disturbance, you broke the lease, you didn't pay rent on time.... You cannot evict somebody simple because you want a new tenant and you can only increase the rent 5% a year. Can't slam you with a 30% increase to force you out. I suggest you call a lawyer in your state for some free legal advice.

Also, on that other thread, would you mind posting the new documents you got so we can see?

haha yeah I know about the website, TY!

I'm sorry I make me more big deal out of it than anything he's not a horrible person I'm sure it's like a throw me on the street.

I truthfully did want to move back in with my friend that I just reconciled with but I actually did get more negative reading then positive so that's why I'm not going to ask her. but oh well time will figure this out!!
