No I don't think he'll decide he can't be your friend anymore. I feel him to be pretty mature in his feelings, and even though he cares for you he is able to separate that from the feelings he has for his family, etc. He's not conflicted, he just feels it.

I actually think they'll be delayed in having kids, they're either going to adopt or she needs help having them. Other possibilities is they socialize too much right now and are not in the right set up to have kids, so it won't be any time soon. They like being able to go out and play and whatnot.
