The first cards suggest that he was told you this because he wanted to be honest with you and you asked for his opinion, or at least he was tired of hiding his long feelings about something and was very frank and to the point about it. He felt a connection to you at the time and knew you would understand him, or at least not judge him for you are a compassionate character to him in the first place. He confided in you and it felt like a psychic awakening to him even if he's not an intuitive person. He felt both the deep psychic bond shared between you too and his ego has been destroyed, he has reached a final conclusion of your character and know its time for the judgement to pass for whatever reason and that is a calling to awakening his consciousness or yours for a reason.. naturally, after the judgement comes THE WORLD.. showing that there is a cycle going to be completed.

5 OF CUPS is not necessarily bad. I have found in my cards sometimes that it just means a disillusionment of idealization or your emotional feelings aren't high and you're thinking very practically. It could also mean at the same time, that he is feeling bitter and that you have rejected him together -- with the 2 OF CUPS symbolizing kindred spirits and a soul pact formed between the two people (you and him) and connecting with the 8 OF SWORDS him knowing that it won't go anywhere. Or at the least him being to scared to act on it due to circumstances like you being much younger/older, or you in a relationship.. ect
He feels captivated by you, but he cannot move and he feels in deep psychological pain.. but it was for a reason he feels.

Since Karka read on this also I asked what I could tell you about this situation. This should have given you some insight though, like a flash of 'aha', 'okay, I certainly see something very clearly'. Overall it seems to strem from different views, possibly not even important ones, but bickering. That's what I gather, so my advice is yes, take bits of what he/she said & see if there's some truth in it (because I think parts are), yet also dismiss bits & don't take it'heavy' cause I think the insights are not 100% clear & for me certainly the way it was said/played out wasn't.

You're going to be able to stay at place X for a while longer, Twirl. In order to do so, all you need to do is maintain harmony and civility with the people around you. Do you feel like the good feelings between the two of you are gone? It's not that bad, things can be worked on, if everyone is willing. That being said, D is being mean because of misplaced anger.
