My once dear friend, whom I greatly loved and cared for; has recently shown her darker side - I find her views most disagreeable and what she says downright insane, I pushed this off for the couple of years I knew her as something as a mere paranoia - but she is so fixed in this opinion she believes it to be true despite the madness of it all!
She is found to be the detestation of many people, I have never seen why, but alas, the mask has faded and now it is shown to me - its ugly and unabashed visage - whose baleful countenance has hindered beneath a facade of agreeableness and docility.

So, anyone pull a few cards to see if I am right in my impulses of her or is it because of my vexation towards her at the moment?

You and M definitely come from different places and/or environments. The Wheel of fortune brings people together that usually would never have met, this is probably because of karma, you had do meet in this lifetime.
This is telling me that M is someone who just runs around in circles instead of actually going anywhere in life, someone who runs hot and cold, I'm thinking about her being kind of bi-polar.
M has strong family values, she may be the rock of her family or it could also be that she only feels protected and secure within her family. Family loyalty may be an issue if she decided to do her own thing or head off in her own direction, she may be given the cold shoulder if she acts alone and this will totally crush her in the inside.
She is not on the adventurous side but overly conservative and resistant to change. The knight of pents also denotes sloppiness, she seems unreliable and unstable to others because she lacks in motivation and determination to go out there and fight for what she wants. As a result she can be bitter and envious of those who actually do it and are successful.

You are hesitant to keep and deepen your relationship with M in fear that you'll bear too much responsibilities. Now this is understandable and you shouldn't feel guilty of doing so. The 9 of wands rx reflects someone being more inclined to be a little "on edge" and on the defensive. Draw tight boundaries around yourself regarding your contact with her but be careful not to dwell on past frustrations and grievances. Just try to let go. Also, don't make make assumptions or hasty judgements.
