[Update : 05.14.15]Hi everyone! So, I am quite confused as to what career path to take. I finished college with a couple of law degrees under my belt, however I am not quite sure what to do with those. I interned at couple of law firms and fashion houses but none of these really satisfied me really. I haven't been to graduate school yet which will happen next year, hopefully. As I'll be applying to graduate school soon, I want to make sure I am making the right choice. It's a major financial investment and I don't want to make a mistake. I'm very interested in creative jobs (entertainment, journalism, publishing, fashion) but I know this path is not very realistic (bills! bills! bills!). I also have a strong interest in humanitarian work (civil rights, public health issues, politics ...). I am quite a scholar-type person. So I am very much confused. I'm very introverted so this is a major challenge I have to overcome if I ever want to advance my career. WHAT KIND OF CAREER WOULD SUIT ME BEST?
Thank you very very much

Hello I see that you have your MC/Midheaven in Pisces. That will cause some confusion and lack of clarity when it comes to career because of Neptune's energy. A lot of people with a Pisces MC usually find themselves in a position where they might be interested in a lot of things, such as arts, health, helping the public, etc. but can become so restless and unsure of what they truly want to do that they can jump from profession to profession and feel kind of lost as to what direction truly suits them. I myself actually have my MC in Pisces and a Cancer ASC too, so I struggle with this as well. Your Neptune is in the 6th house of service/health/routine, so with the influence of that planet, that can too explain why you are interested in humanitarian/charitable work. Also, you have Moon and Mars in Gemini which I think could possibly create a similiar feeling because Gemini can be into many things as well but have trouble narrowing down or focusing on one thing, so they can sometimes get confused with what they're really doing/what they really want to focus their energy on. I hope I helped somewhat! It's 4 a.m. so I hope I made sense, haha. IP: Logged |

Thanks yellow I was actually wondering what career path would suit me best ... But yes, I have a very hard time focusing on one aspect unlike most people I know who seem to be so one-dimensional in their career. I'm the complete opposite and I don't seem to get any satisfaction. It's frustrating because a lot of people know what they want to do and stick to it, and I'm not like that. I wish I were It's very draining! Thank you again! IP: Logged |

I think you should do something with tax law. You can work behind the scenes, no jury trials to have to work with. You will make a lot of money with Jupiter in Leo in the 2nd. No doubts there. I think you should try things that go behind the scenes to do investigative work and let you claim the glory without having to stand in front of people to get the rewards. Tax law, entertainment law. Something legal looks good for you. There are so many legal avenues that trial law (as you know) is just one of them.IP: Logged |

Good comments above.Have you thought about environmental law, legal affairs having to do with real estate or animal protection? Legalities with trade-shipping industry, maybe international tariffs? Perhaps family protection laws. you have attention for detail. contract law would be great, especially where it would benefit the environment or families. Your love for humanity is key. pursue whatever you love dearly, follow anything that connects with your heart. you are here to experience a lot. following your heart will show you the simplest answer. i can understand your indecision. take a look at 11th house of gains, mars in gemini conjunct the node of uranus... lots of restlessness with job. Asteroid karma is exact opposite in transit. Look up iq's description of your natal karma in pisces and the sabian of your natal saturn (maximum karma) in 6h of selfless service. Saturn in transit is exact conjunct your natal pluto. Pluto is transit conjunct neptune, apex of your yod. time to awaken to your hidden potential, your genetic gifts. What are the gifts from your father's genetic line, grandfather, etc? Investigate. whatever career you choose you must keep the benefit of the collective above personal recognition and focus on teamwork. If you believe in hypnosis and past life regression it may help you at this time to find your way. ask to go to the entry point of your major karma lifelines having to do with work/career/job. especially karma having to do with teamwork, or lack of it, in the past. Ask to have gifts, or karmic blocks, unveiled from your father's genetic line. Your chart shows you to be a true humanitarian and a natural healer. Choose a specialty that is going to help others, help the collective, and use your personal talents to support others, especially your creative talent. take this time to awaken to your hidden potential. good luck.

Thank you very much to both of you for your very detailed responses! They truly enlightened me. I've been on the fence about completing my education with another law-related degree. However, I realized that business degrees are not exactly for me. I'm far too sensitive and shy to be working in a proper "corporate" environment where good-communication skills are a necessity. Working in the background suits me best although I'm craving for actual recognition. That being said, I got admitted into an International Trade and Foreign Investment Law masters degree. I deferred because I wasn't sure it was actually what I wanted to truly pursue. I'm leaning towards a masters in Health Law/Global Health Law or Human Rights (maybe). There has to be a "humanitarian" component to this degree but I am quite scared to follow such path as it's a very very restrictive job market! As we all know, graduate school is very expensive and I want to be able to find a job afterwards. Contract Law could indeed be a possibility as I aced every single one of my Contract Law exams quite easily. My dad is a humanitarian too. He studied philosophy and religion in college, and minored in psychology. He's always wanted to work in international relations/politics/NGOs and has pushed me towards such path which I would gladly take but it's a risky bet financially. IP: Logged |

There is your answer. If you wait to do something safe... You will have spent your entire life ON THE FENCE. And you do want recognition. Just remember that you can get it this way and gain your recognition. One day while sitting in the newly created NATO ish organization... you will look back and laugh at your once indecisiveness. Be your dad's daughter. Be your own advice. You know in your heart if you love it... you can advise and protect it.IP: Logged |

Thank you LP. Yeah, owning my own company will enventually happen even if it won't necessarily be primary occupation. It's definitely part of my life plans. However, it's not quite realistic at the moment as I've recently graduated and I'm looking for a steady career path that I can successfully pursue after graduate school. I need to earn a living first ha. I'm not planning on working for a corporation anyway IP: Logged |

Thank you very much tphoenix5!
I wholeheartedly agree with you. If I keep saying "I'm on the fence, ambivalent" and therefore block myself from acting on my ambitions and dreams, I'll never get anywhere really. My dad is telling me to go for it and not worry about the end result, but I tend to rationalize and think about the future a little bit too much. I have to take the plunge at some point. I can't stay out of the water forever. Yeah, maybe a career in International Investment/Trade would be great because I'll be able to transition and maybe work for myself afterwards. However, humanitarian work is a component I can't disregard which is the reason why I would be leaning towards Health Law/Human Rights. I really want to contribute to society in some way. I can't picture myself working individually without contributing to progress/change in some way. We all have to make a choice at some point ha!

I'm upping this thread because I'm quite confused regarding the composition of my chart. I asked someone to analyze my chart and come up with a career path and this is what they told me - "Your purpose is to wander around as a reminder to the rest of us just how fortunate we are. We know this because Moon, Lord of the Horoscope, is posited within the Twelfth and near its cusp, is peregrine and without major aspect. She is inconjunct her lord Mercury. There are two yod formations in this chart (more than one is unusual). In fact the chart is built around these two yods; they provide the structural framework for the chart. Yods are particularly troublesome formations (It seems as if you can get nothing right) and with them playing such a prominent role in the chart, we can expect "yod troubles". Mars and Neptune are each located at the focus of a yod, the two of them are in partile quincunx and Mars stands out in the chart by retrogradation and pattern position. Also, I consider him to be lord of the Scorpio cluster. It is the Mars-Neptune quincunx that will unlock the yods." I don't know what "wander around" means in this context but it certainly isn't something positive. Is this supposed to mean I'm going to be jobless and broke due to my complex chart?
With Jupiter in Leo in the 2nd, it's hard to believe I wouldn't be able to find at least one way to earn money... Apparently, I have not only one but two yods?! And an unaspected moon which I was aware of but I don't think it has any impact on career. Can anyone enlighten me please? Thank you! IP: Logged |

A yod is very fortunate even though I have read some discouraging that aspect. It means (in the Jewish and astrological sense) the finger of GOD. This has nothing to do with ambivalence. Quite the contrary, what it does say is that when you were in your higher self you thought maybe you might waver on what you would want when you took on this heavy reality. So you gave God permission not once but twice to take control of the situation and as long as you are here your life will be God sent in every sense of the word. To illustrate: A friend of mine had a tight yod. Do not remember the exact aspects but he had one. When he was 15 he got buckshot in his butt for being on private golf course and was awarded money for life... (not at the yod yet)... This afforded to be able to take college courses... which he did in agriculture.... lots of em. One summer break a guy offered him a job as a electrical engineer helper. This became his career after many many courses in lawn care, biology, etc...... Best electrical engineer I ever knew. So... God's got this... ! IP: Logged |

A bit of an update almost a year later ... I ended up working in corporate governance /tax/contracts law. I like it very much and hope to continue along this path. There is indeed a "collective" side to my job as I do work for the shareholders, not the companies. I do assess the shareholders' interests with regards to the company's decisions. Thank you all for your help IP: Logged |
