I am indeed still interested in someone I dated earlier this year.

I definitely had control issues that were a result of my insecurities instilled during my childhood. I was therefore a bit clingy/needy. My self-esteem was very low and I was just scared he'd reject me, which happened.

He had obvious issues (his self-esteem wasn't great either) which caused him to act like a tool. It was plain obvious it was due to past hurts (he mentionned a couple of them). He acted like an unsure player.

I'm don't know what's going on with him. However, this rejection was very therapeutic on so many levels. It was the worst thing I had ever experienced love-wise but also the best because I learned to focus on myself first, find out who I am and what I want to do in life, get rid of all my insecurities (this is still a work in progress as I had deep rooted issues, but my fears of rejection are gone now. I'm learning how to let go of control completely when it comes to love and go with the flow).

Unlike my previous break-ups, I believe he was a true soul mate of mine meant to teach me life-long lessons. I totally agree on the fact that this break up a spiritual one! I felt a real shift afterwards and I went from being an innocent "teen" (I'm in my 20s, but I was acting like a child at times) to an actual young woman. I'm very thankful for this experience despite the horrible pain it entailed.

I sure hope he and I will reconcile someday. As I'm letting go of control, I learned that everything happens in divine timing. I know we're meant to be, and we'll probably reconnect someday, so I'm letting destiny pick the right time. I still have so much to work on anyway.

The lesson is to open up and speak about your feelings, don't be shy. You will have to free yourself and remain positive about the future. I think your burdens go back to a break-up, and you're still bringing some old and unnecessary stuff with you in the present.
