Interesting. I'm seeing here a decision to maybe shed the past and shed what was weighing you down. This might be a literal example of losing weight and freeing yourself. The middle card, Whip, in the center of all of this seems to indicate the conflict you feel about this decision. Since I don't see The Tree here I'm thinking (if I'm right about weight loss and becoming a new person) it's more about how you feel about yourself than it is for health purposes.

Over the next 6 months or so you'll see yourself change and other people will too. I feel it's more positive than not, that this conflict you feel will make you stronger. Conversely, this may result in a heated discussion with a good friend of yours. One who maybe wants to stay in the limelight as up until this point you have been their protector in some way? I also get a feeling of You vs. Everyone else here, but other than Path + Whip + Garden I'm not sure why it came up... (sorry!)

In the future this change may open you up to meeting new kinds of people. There's one in particular (maybe they're around you now though, I still haven't grasped if the 3x3 is past, present, future, or not.) who's clever and loyal, and you're meant to meet them. They are going to be an important person in your life. Going diagonally I think they will be in your life a long time. OR something completely different - maybe you were slow to temper before and now you are more apt to speak your mind and use your wit to your advantage.

In short this reading seems to be about personal transformation.

I'm not quite sure about the 2nd interpretations...not sure what it means.

For the last part, both scenarios can very much be true lol. I've met someone who is very loyal and clever and I feel that we will be in each other's lives for a long time. Also, I"m starting to be more open and comfortable with expressing what I think/feel and do tend to use my wit to get my message across. Out of curiosity, can you tell if the person described is male or female?
