hellotoday, my mother took me to meet with an astrologer (really he's a nice man and i fondly call him "grandfather") for a reading regarding my education and career, because that side of my life has lately been suffering. right before we left, my ever-curious and anxious mother asked him regarding my marriage (idk why :/) and he said i would marry a little late (he said 26-18 years old) and the groom shall be somebody who lives close by (as in, he would have been born and brought up within the same state as I), etc. since then, i have been very restless because i do not wish to know, i never wished to know. is it really possible to tell so much by looking at the natal chart.. i have been keenly learning bits about astrology reading the forum and articles on the internet, and i was of the opinion that planetary positions and aspects and houses only indicate the POTENTIAL of something. please do educate me if i am wrong, i am willing to learn. thank you~ IP: Logged |

Hi there Astrology and analyzing charts can be very accurate and telling. That's why it's been around for thousands of years and people still use it today. Things like potential marriage partners, children, etc. definitely can be found in a chart. It can also point to your best-suited career etc. I was a bit of a skeptic myself, but in a quest to disprove some parts if it, I found it to be amazingly accurate! I have been studying astrology now religiously for over 2 years and I am now a devout student and guide. You will find many knowledgeable astrologers here to answer any of your questions - you came to the right place IP: Logged |

It was Sun Signs by Linda Goodman that made me look under every bed and behind every door for a month after reading it. Before then I had told anyone who would listen what crackery the stuff was. I would point to the stuff in the paper and say... that could apply to anyone on any day... And if you ever write an astrological column... that is what you have to do (and more accurately based on your rising sign). I have been a devotee every since. The more I learn, the more I realize what can and cannot show up on an astrological chart (the sex of the person does not show ... ) and I am always impressed. Those friends of mine that went on to keep studying...most of them are meeting in Va Bch this week... talking medicine wheels, astrology, feng shui and everything under the sun. I miss it. They send me the recordings. But it really is something you just jump into (because remember it is ruled by Uranus) and then you teach yourself to swim. If you are lucky to find others swimming... as this forum, etc... you can teach each other. But you get from it what you put into it. I work at a college.... People learn what they want. If you can see (as I did) how it may change your life... in very good ways... then you may stay interested.... if you do not... you will wander away and no one will remember.IP: Logged |

Astrology can tell you a lot, if you know where to look. But that part is the problematic one. Where to look? I can see why he would say the groom would live close-by, though I don't agree. I can't see why he would think 18-26 for time of marriage. Why are you so anxious, I don't quite understand? IP: Logged |

@tgem and @tphoenix5: i am still learning and it was definitely one new huge thing i encountered, to find that astrology could/can indicate things about the potential spouse. nevertheless, i have calmed down since then and have been studying more @libran_dream: oh i just re-read my post and saw an error. i'm sorry, he said 26-28 years, not 18 *facepalm* i always type too fast and make mistakes T_T may i ask you what about my chart could have made him say the "future-groom" would live somewhere close? and i thank the stars that you don't agree please explain? i was anxious because it sort of sucked out all adventures and surprises from my life, or that's what i thought at the time. also, there is "the" man and he definitely was not born in my hometown or grew up here :P i had to make myself a cup of tea and watch the sunset to calm myself down.
