i don't know if he's married or dating steady but he does have kids.

I don't think this man is dating or even married. It seems he is even on a lookout on a possible partner - he also could be spending too much time with his career - I don't feel as if he had any time to do dating. I think you should go ahead and ask him out - spice up his life!
