I have an ex lets call J who i dated before I met my fiancee almost 5 years. We dated for almost a year and we broke up. We have been off and on contact since then but as of right now we are out of contact. I love my fiancee but I felt J was "the one". I have never had so much of a powerful connection for someone other than J and it makes me feel bad to say that :-(. It took a lot of healing myself to be able to get over but there are times here and there i tend to think about him. We have both moved on and i will say it kind of kills me not being in contact with him but not for a relationship (boyfriend/girlfriend) but more for a friend. The last contact we had he told me that all he wanted was for us to be friends but i pulled what i call high school drama and that pretty much blew the chances of becoming friends. I don't want people to take this as I am crazy obsessed about him because I couldn't really talk to anyone about my feelings toward all of this because I kept it within myself for so many years. My question is will me and J ever become friends or are we better off staying out of contact? to whomever helps I apologize for this being really long.

I will say this is advice only but I think you would be smart to not be in contact with this guy again. Would you be ok if your fiance was talking to an ex that he still had feelings for? Just playing devil's advocate here....sorry if I stepped on any toes.

I understand where you are coming from. Maybe it is best to leave the past in the past and Your not stepping on toes I guess I just let myself think too much in the past when I need to focus on here and now.

Hey, I don't do readings but I can say that I always worry that I'm gonna think about my ex in the same way you are thinking of yours im afraid I'll be married to another man and still miss and think all these amazing what if thoughts about my ex but you have to remember that if he wanted to be with you he would have chosen you if it was meant for him to be your fiancé he would have been. It hurts I know when you think of someone you used to seriously have a great connection with because I myself never had such a strong connection with my ex but I also know that he's probably happy without me and meant for someone else. So why not be happy with who's in front of you and there all along.. your fiancé. Just some friendly advice!
