His first initial reaction is nothing. He's taking a step back, controling himself, weighing up between 2 things and trying to figure out the best way to react and what to say back

Did you give him an ultimatum of some sort? He is a little shocked of what you said, and has a higher respect for you, and looks at you in a new light, sort of admiring the "balls" you just had

But conclusion, dont trust what he says or tells you what he's going to do, he's going to try to manipulate you for self gain and trick you
