I am not understanding why you ask about aproaching him if you are saying you want him to ignore you and if you keep contacting him to tell him to ignore you. That to me is unfair and playing games with him so 1st of all stop doing that ! Its palying with his emotions and its not nice. If you want anyting from him then stop treating him that way, and stop making him responsable for YOUR actions!!
If you dont want to be with him then stop talking to him and dont talk to him just to tell him to ignore you.
If you want him well then show him and tell him, there is no other way and games will get your nowhere. Noone like a manipulator which is what you are doing.

On his feelings, well he feels confused, hurt and used.

Other than that I am not getting anything else

You tried he doesnt want you. Then let him be, there is no point in crawling after him like a puppy if he pushes you away each time.

He is showing you he doesnt want to be with you again. why would he need ot go against his will just because its all YOU want?
