On Thursday, an explosion in NYC happened that resulted in three buildings catching on fire like a domino affect. All the buildings burned down. A friend of mine was on a date that day inside of a Sushi restaurant, which so happens to be one of the buildings that fell down. The girl got out unconscious with a broken nose. Other people escaped safely (but injured) as well, but N and another man were reported missing for two days after the explosion. Today, Sunday, police found his body underneath the rubble. His family have indeed confirmed that it is him. I feel so broken. He was only 23... It's true that the good die young He saved his date but couldn't get out in time himself. He sacrificed himself for her, which was such a noble and beautiful thing, but I can't help but feel a deep sadness. All of my friends are shook. This is someone we know, someone close to our hearts, close to everyone's heart that knew him. He was such an amazing person. His name is Nicholas F. I have been following this story because I live in NYC and it is just so sad especially when its so close to home, your friend Nicolas did a beautiful and brave thing, and he will always be remembered for that. You should definitely hold on to that "silver lining" here. May he rest in perfect peace. The loss of a loved one is never easy. Take comfort in knowing he passed saving the life of another. Webster's defines a hero as a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities. Perhaps death is not a final goodbye- at least that is not how I see it. The spirit of the person will be around you for ages to come- I still feel some dead friends around me from time to time. I have feeling that so much painful has happened in this world in last few weeks… Even in our land there have been several car accidents where 20-30 years old people died.
