My first week of the semester just started but I'm already feeling so drained. My grades have always been fine but I've never enjoyed school. Research work and writing papers in particular makes me miserable. I've always known that academia doesn't sit well with me, in fact something that cheers me up is thinking about how I'll graduate in a year.I'm trying to understand why I seem to face a stumbling block when it comes to uni and wonder if there's anything in my chart that would explain this? Hmm, I don't like academia much either. I'd rather be doing the practical work and encounter the 'real' problems not the theoretical. Perhaps we have similar aspects in out chart? Link to mine for comparison: http://i60.tinypic.com/20pr0v6.jpg I'm a bit of a novice at reading charts, so I'll just keep at bay until someone more experienced answers. I can do tarot, so if you have a question, just let me know. IP: Logged |

My answer is probably not the most reliable one, but I think your Aries Mercury in 6th house may be most responsible. Your Taurus Sun may be support for your dislike, but your Mercury stands out more to me.I have the placements I just mentioned and I don't enjoy university either. Aries Mercury in 6th house may be more into their choice of work instead of work they didn't choose to do. I assume the papers and the research drain you, because it's not work you enjoy doing and you write a lot of papers when in university. Aries Mercury prefers to "do" something with their information, but they can get impatient with papers. Papers slow down the thought process for an Aries Mercury and this can cause frustration. I think Aries prefer work they're passionate about, not boring papers. Slow-paced Taurus hates to be rushed and by nature university is face-paced. You end up with things like 3 papers due in the same week and 2 finals to study for by next Monday. It can be quite draining to a Taurus that just wants to spend time doing a good job instead of having to meet deadlines that don't allow a slower pace. Just personal experience and the feedback I can offer based on sharing a couple placements with you. I could be way off the mark with this entire post. Let me know if I'm right about anything though. I do want to get better at reading charts. IP: Logged |

could be your chiron in the 9th house of higher education. chiron has been called the 'wound that never heals' so it's some pain but some also say it's healing too.. don't know. but that might be whats up?IP: Logged |

@lerenaYup, it's pretty spot on. I had a feeling it might have to do with my mercury in Aries placement. Writing and research work definitely drains me since I already hate it lol. I get impatient and bored when it comes to that and my mind just doesn't want to deal with it. I used to think I might have some form of attention disorder. This is not a good placement to have for someone who has to go through uni. Its true I hate being rushed, then my stubbornness (taurus influence) kicks in making me feel frustrated. Thanks for going over my chart, you explained how my placements affected me pretty well. @confusedaseff Hmm I never thought of that placement that way, I always thought it meant I have some lessons to learn when it comes to spirituality. Yess please! I need advice on how to approach assignments and work that I don't enjoy?[/B][/QUOTE] From personal experience, I inject my own opinions on the issue rather than just report on it. That way I can basically explain to myself how stupid this action is from an economic perspective, and from other perspectives. Basically I find solace in poking holes through the course matter.
---- As for the cards- vii of wands- first you need to resolve to do it. That means that you create a deadline for yourself which you must follow by hook or by crook. v of swords- direct yourself into seeing things from different perspectives. Don't do what everyone else is doing. Think about the material before even starting a paper. queen of swords- You're smart- so put in your personal wit in some of your essays. I guess you're stuck with the assignment, so why not do something where you can use your own thought process instead on focusing on a 101 journal articles. I'm not saying not to put academic sources, but put some and shape the argument to what you want to convey.

Also.. You have Mercury squaring both Mars and Chiron in the 9th house.. Having your 6th house on the cusp of Aries basically screams "I want to do work that is quick, and invigorating".. I'm guessing you would rather be challenged, doing things that really make you think, rather than sitting down and going through the rigmarole of writing and researching lengthy projects. Of course, this does not mean you are incapable of doing it, but if you do do these kinds of things, it is probably going to have be based on something that is intriguing.. Especially something that brings somewhat of a challenge, that makes you have to really think, rather than just sitting down and -for lack of a better term- restating the exact thing you just read.Your passions may be focused on 'higher principles' rather than simple mundane things, and this could make uni very boring and draining to you. I'm not sure, but I am guessing you may be more of a hands on person..? Maybe rather than researching and writing about something, you want to be out there doing those things first hand.. Also.. Jupiter is opposite Saturn.. Now, this has a certain significance, because it kind of ties in with the rest of that energy, considering Jupiter rules the 9th house. Now, of course your personal 9th house ruler is in Pisces, in the 5th house. (being the Moon) This further strengthens a bit of what I said earlier.. The 5th house is about pleasure and creativity.. Having your Midheaven ruler there, you may gravitate to doing things where you are 'Creating' rather than analyzing.. Now, in Pisces, this may become a bit cloudy to you. You may want to do something creative, and you may have the drive for it, but yet you may not be sure where to put this energy..
Hmmm.. There are some other things I think came to mind too, but these are the main things I am able to put down at this point.. Does any of this resonate with you, or not? because, of course, there are always multiple ways a chart's energy can be expressed.

@MinceyMouseThank you for the reading! I'm a business major and most of the time Im not interested in the topic of the paper I'm supposed to write. They require lots of boring research and facts but I guess I should make room for more of my opinions on the topic too. And the seven of wands card you pulled really resonates, I need to pick up the slack and start putting in a lot more resolve. @ReadingTheStars95 Oh wow you're really talented, you basically described me to a T! Definitely one of the most accurate chart reading I've had so far. I really do want work that is quick and invigorating. You're right that I'm more of a hands on person, sometimes I wonder if I should have chosen a different course where it would encourage more activity rather than researches. I've always liked the idea of creating but I don't know what to do it it. I'm surprised you could pick this up from my chart too. A reader told me the same thing recently, that I had a lot of creative energy that was not being channeled towards creating and it was making me jumpy and agitated. IP: Logged | |
