I know the title seems kinda weird, but I always wondered when I was little girl why I kept hearing a person (lady) calling my name. It always sounded like my mom but it would happen when she was not at home also. It would creep me out a lot, but now I gotten used to it. Some people say it's my spirit guides, but I don't want to think that for now..:/ I thought it was my grandmother or someone in my family that was trying to call my name.

This happens to me too, someone once told me it was my higher self, and me perceiving the voice of someone I'm close to.

Are you the one who's mother said don't be a psychic be a prophet ? I remember that conversation for some reason and your choosing not to believe in guidesi guess from response above. If this helps think of the voice as your guardian angels. I was just talking with my mom yesterday and she is very religious and doesn't like the term psychic/ medium. So I just tell her my angels said..... She told me yesterday that a pastor can't remember which he is well known said that we have two guardian angels who watch over us very intently all the time and report back to God on what we are doing. They are there to keep us safe as well.
So hearing them is ok and it should give you comfort if you don't like the other terms being used. Just think of the voice as your guardian angels god has in place to watch over you and keep you safe.

Well since I'm not that close to my family, I can't really answer that. But I've been hearing this since I was a little child.. Like very little.

Just sharing an experience - when I was in India, I was hearing one voice and one line - that you have to go somewhere, and I kept asking where?
Then eventually I crossed ocean and came to USA.

May be you could ask the message she wants to convey to you!
