Okay so my cat came running in from the outside and was dripping in blood from his jaw area. I took a look at it and it seems like he got bit by another animal (one wound on top of his head and one wound under his jaw) I cleaned the wounds and waited until there were any effects the next day. Next day came and his right side of his face is completely swollen! He can barely open his eye. I am now trying to figure out if he has rabies or not or any other virus I should get treated at the vet right away. Only problem is I'm very low on money rn and I don't want to go through a bunch of costly tests for him... if anyone can draw cards for my cat please that would be awesome I'm really worried it could be something worse but I don't want to spend so much extra cash on tests he never needed to take. I'm mostly worried he might have rabies! Please anyone help.IP: Logged |

I agree if you're in the States I suggest a Humane Society their prices are fairly low or an ASPCA sometimes they do some services no charge though for them I would call in advanced. Poor kitty IP: Logged |

please keep in mind, rabies can take up to a month to develop, but here's a resource that may help while i'm working on your reading. http://www.petmd.com/cat/conditions/neurological/c_ct_rabies IP: Logged |

ok, i did a reading for you. i drew the heirophant. i interpret this to mean your cat need vet care. some vets will let you make payments. perhaps the emergency vet hospital will let you make payments. i recommend you do some calling around. i recommend that you also handle the cat using thick blankets so you don't come into contact with it's bodily fluids or get bitten or scratched. hopefully you can humanely crate the pet. if you have a cat muzzle, use it.

Thankyou all for your honest replies. I'm taking my baby in for the vet today. I've Googled a lot and from what I think may be the cause is that he got into a cat fight (territorial fight outside) looks like the cat had a good handle on his head (small tooth puncture under his jaw and one on top of his eyebrow ) which caused an infection under his skin and now its all filled with puss!! (feline abscess, a pocket of puss that needs to be drained out) I've been cleaning his wounds as much as possible and giving him wet food with silver water to help him until his vet appointment. I got so worried when I first saw it I freaked and tried finding help anywhere I could lol. I just hope it's nothing more than just an infection. I hate hearing those words of "it's too late. If only you knew sooner" my cat is everything to me. I'll keep updated on what the vet says. Maybe if any future/present cat owners read this they will know what it is possibly right away too. http://www.brightwoodanimalhospital.com/fight_wound_infections IP: Logged |
