These are really clear cards to me. Even if you decided that science/physics was more in line with your vision, you'd find it really hard and end up changing majors anyway (to health care)! The high priestess as health care is interesting to me, and I think you know in your heart that you want to do health care rather than science/physics. Just follow your intuition and your heart and that is the best way to go!

Wow....that's my exact delimma. I know science will be so hard and take so much longer I wonder if it will get overwhelming and I'll regret it. I love science so much but if I wanted to do it I wish I would have started straight out of high school instead of now when I have kids.
Science will be so much more involved and take years longer, much more money invested to get to where I want to go and honestly I wouldn't make that much more money.
I just love researching so much I thought maybe I should just do a leap of faith and go for it! Lol
Your right though, health care is where I should go, it's logical and the more practical choice, thank you! I just needed reassurance.

Thank you, I've been doing the pro's and con's...the science has all the cons, but I just love science so much!
If I had wanted to do that I should have done it right out of high school because it could take 7-10 years to get to the place id want to go with it, research!! Which means id need a PhD....I'd be old by that time! Lol
I will kick myself over n over for the rest of my life for not doing that when I was younger!
Oh well...I promise you I will be a scientist in my next life!!

Getting a PhD won't necessarily put you back a lot. You can finish one in 4 years. My perspective with doing a PhD in a scientific field involves working concurrently as well. So you'd have a job full time, and be studying too. The only thing that would suffer is your personal life. And while its great to have a supportive partner, that's not always the case.

Im a single mom, 3 kids...ages 10, 16, 18. My lil guy has autism, but he's just awesome!
Since I have children that are going to be in college soon, they would be my support system and I'd be their support system.
If anyone ends up being a scientist it will be my autistic son or maybe my 16 year old, they both love science.

My autistic son will be entering a special live in school meant to teach him how to find the genius in his autism and his is science related. He nearly has all the stars placements memorized.

I remember when my parents used to tell me what to do based on the things that they had missed out on. The thing is... some older generations didn't necessarily think through HOW they could best fit their own experiences for their children in their unique situations.

I always tell myself that I now know the little nooks and crannies to help out someone (like a child) who wants to get to a place or realize a goal. And maybe you can do the same for your children. Guide them to their places in life so they find happiness and everything else the world has to offer.

they show both paths are successful for you, so perhaps trying to combine them somehow? I'm not sure how this is possible in the US, maybe start with correspondence courses for the science?

Of course the way i was raised I was taught girls were only meant to have kids and take care of a man. Extra schooling/college for a woman was considered to be going against God. Actually I was pulled out of school early to do service for the church, that's how little they thought of my schooling.

Thank you GK! The thought of the younger kids getting things easier is true...and I would be competing with these kids. That's a tough pill to swallow.

I've been preparing my life for more peace, space and free time, finally getting things settled. I've had so much on my plate for so long, questions that I couldn't her answes for but now it's starting to come together and slowing down. I finally have answers I've been searching for, for years and understand what I need to do.
