Happy belated birthday, geminikarat! Hope that all of your wishes will be fullfilled in the next year. Here's a little gift for you: 5 cards spread with the Grand Lenormand Set (first I post the cards incl. their general meanings- after that my personal interpretation would follow)- Imagine the cards are in a row, so that you can see what card reflects the other. eg. 9 of spades bottom right subject influences the 5 of diamonds cards, etc.
1.
Nine of Spades [Group: The Trojan War]
This card exerts influence on neighboring cards. It often foretells of health problems, nervous tension, or psychological problems.
The Letter E
Represents: Nervousness, Inspiration, Independence
Floral Arrangement: Willowherb [Epilobium], Blueberry, Rose of a Hundred Leaves/Petals [Rosa × centifolia]
Interpretation: You’re preoccupied with the health of a friend because you know the situation is not very good. Send them your good vibes or give them a little of your time.
Large Subject: Isis brings news to Helen who is occupied with embroidery.
Interpretation: Someone you know is obligated, at their great regret, to cause pain to those they love. They have no choice and they cannot do otherwise. It is very probable that this action they take will be very difficult for them to accomplish.
Bottom Right Subject: The arrows of Hercules.
Interpretation: Someone you know is feeling guilty for something they have done. It will be required to reflect in order to avoid the worst. In this situation, you must remain neutral and don’t intervene, other people will do it for you.
2.
5 of Diamonds [Group: The Zodiac]
This card represents rewards and the promise of success in business affairs. It emphasizes your ability to rise to all challenges.
The Letter B
Represents: Possessiveness, Ability [lit: Facility], Irregularity
Floral Arrangement: Clover, Clove Tree Flowers, Coral Necklace (Illecebrum paronychia)
Interpretation: You’ve asked for advice. You have a mistake to correct today. Accept a compromise, it will allow you to regain your position.
[Note: There is some disagreement whether Giroflee actually translates as Cloves, or just a flower that smells like cloves, like the carnations, gilliflowers, pinks, or even some geraniums, wallflowers, or stocks]
Large Subject: Facing Scorpio, Phaeton drops the reins of the Chariot of the Sun.
Interpretation: This card represents imprudence and carelessness. Therefore, if you lack courage, it is absolutely necessary to be strong enough to face defeat. But it’s not a reason to make hasty decisions.
Bottom Right Subject: Two women argue.
Interpretation: You have a tendency to speak before you think. Try to better manage yourself because your work could suffer consequences and your chances for success could be compromised.
Bottom Left Subject: A policeman sits at a table.
Interpretation: Justice is the order of the day. In effect, you’ll likely be annoyed by problems relative to the law. Contact with the justice system may disturb you for some time.
Constellation: The Chameleon
Interpretation: It represents an obvious lack of lucidity.
Overall Interpretation of the card
Like Phaeton who loosed the reins of pride, you are in error. Do not wait for control to return to the situation at hand, act quickly if you don’t want to lose your goal. But do it with tact and modesty so you don’t find yourself embarrassed later.
3.
Five of Hearts[ Group: The Unforeseen ]
This card represents emotional setbacks. It encourages prudence in your relations and to be on your guard against possible misconceptions.
The Letter N
Represents: Cleverness, Strategy, Sociability
Floral Arrangement: Sorrel, Lichen
Interpretation: You want to change everything and take a new direction in your life. Don’t act on a whim, however don’t end up doing nothing in the slightest either.
Large Subject: Two gentlemen of different nationalities are received by the king.
Interpretation: Benefits will be conferred and you may begin conducting business at a very high level. You may even begin a desired relationship with foreign countries. However, you need to be careful with letters you send.
Bottom Right Subject: A planter containing an orange in flower.
Interpretation: Your place for routine business will serve your friends, family, and yourself. Altogether, your business will get better and better, but with that your responsibilities will grow increasingly heavy.
Bottom Left Subject: A chained falcon.
Interpretation: Within a narrow margin of freedom, you need to negotiate for your best interests. The current period is favorable to others, but you can wisely manage your business affairs to reverse the situation.
Constellation: Leo [ The Lion ]
Interpretation: A beautiful change
Overall Interpretation of the Card
Like the gentlemen, you will need to negotiate with tact and a willingness toward conciliation. It is necessary and preferable for you to treat your business affairs with competence,
[ The next phrase is odd; literally – ‘violence only brings risk of rupture’ but I would interpret that as an idiom for ‘coming on too strong’ risks losing everything. ]
