This is a very serious topic so just don't go by what I say.
I'm afraid but it seems unlikely that the doctors will find out initially what the health problem is. However, they will keep him in circle and take care of his health. There may be a meeting of doctors to diagnose the problem. In the end your friend might go through some surgery but he'll come out just fine, as in he'll have to recuperate from the treatment but he will be ok.
As said before don't rely on my reading as it's a major issue. Thanks for letting me read for your friend. May God keep him in good health.
