Hello I am interested in candle magick and want to get into it. More specifically, for bringing love into my life, as well as money. Any advice? I want to keep it simple (mostly because I'm a college student on a budget lol)..I've read that different colored colored represent different aspects. For instance, red or pink for love, green for money etc. Can anyone please expand? Also, not sure if "Personal Readings" is the correct forum for this.. IP: Logged |

Hi Java! I've done a little candlework on my own. Yes, I would stick with red and pink for love and attraction. Green for money or work. I know Walmart sells the tall glass enclosed candles that are often used for candlework and they are relatively cheap. I've even found white candles at the dollar store. If you can't leave it lit the entire burn then snuff it out, never blow. If you google herbs for candlework you can find a list I'm sure of different things to use that represent different things. If you are doing a candle for a person you can etch their name into the candle using a pin as this will help the work. Cinnamon is used to spark communication so sprinkle some cinnamon. I've bought oils from luckymojo.com and they are relatively cheap but get you on the shipping. The way the candle burns is significant. A clean burn of all the wax to the bottom of the glass usually means your work will be successful. I hope this info helps!IP: Logged |

Thanks so much! A silly question: if I borrow a lighter from my friend and light the candle with it, will her energy interfere? Will I be better off purchasing my own?IP: Logged |

I don't think so but I prefer matches. No particular reason, just a personal preference. As you prepare your candle focus on your intention and state your intention. You may also want to write it down and put it under the candle. Fold the paper towards you though so as to bring the intention in to you. I was instructed to write my intention in a circle going clockwise and not lifting the pen as I write. So cross your T's and dot your I's at the end. IP: Logged |

I remembering reading somewhere that matches are better so I always use the old fashioned match sticks. They are super cheap. You can also use a white candle to substitute for any color.IP: Logged |
