I am often amazed and in awe of the skills and intuitive abilities shown by all of you. This in turn makes me curious about your background - are you intuitive, empathic, or psychic in other ways, I wonder. What made you take up reading cards? When did you discover your abilities or how are you developing them? Do you also meditate or follow any other kind of spiritual practice? Some LL members have talked about how they experienced instances of "knowing" as children, which is inspiring.

Instead of me asking you individually (which I often do), would you please tell us about yourselves here?

I consider myself to be intuitive, I would say emotions and energy around people is my forte.
Hmm I was good with reading pictures of people but havent done it in a long time.
What got me to do this on a site like this, dont know honestly, I was amazed myself as to how good I was so I tried it out.
Im also quit3 empathic which drains me the most when in person, I dont really like feeling how people around me feel, negative emotions can be so heavy.

I used to meditate, should do it more often actually. During meditations I met my guarduian angels and felt them, met my spirit guide but I dont feel either when I do readings. Energy just sort of comes to me, I feel the feelings and try my best to describe to qurant.
I dont call upon anything when doing readings actually I even have music/tv in back ground relaxed atmosphere.

Hm yes I did "just know" things as a child. I saw I was good at knowing where things are around the house when someone lost anything, I "just knew"

I have vivid prophetic dreams which is how I get insight for myself. They give me messages or signs. I learned how to get these dreams and I usually get some form of insight into whats on my mind. Prophetic dreams happened many times, where what I dreamt happened very very similar to how it was in my dream.

No I havent. I dont try to tap into anyone unless they ask me. Sometimes if I think about specific people and situations I feel something. Like someone is in a new relationship and I have a thought about it and feel if they might last but I dont tell them since they dont ask.
I dont think Im sensitive enough to just feel peoples future by being next to them. I only a few times felt passed over souls but ONLY when asked.
My own passed over family members I see in dreams or soooometimes not often I feel them if I think about them.

Yes this is why I continue to do it othet than help. To develop more only through practice can I.

I ask the question in my head and type out what comes out without questioning it. The less I quiestion it its more accurate.
Yes I think the more I do it the more I can develop abilities.
I dont hear voices.
I do sometimes "see" impressions. Well its not easy to describe as it just happens.
I dont "see" with every reading. Mostly I just sense energy.
I dont close my eyes all the time but I still sense an image somehow.
Lol sorry its not described the best.

I don't have the gift of highly developed intuition but I have discovered that I am very good with Reiki and have my masters. I discovered this when I was a little girl. I would let my hands hover over an area that I hurt because the heat felt so good. Of course I thought everyone knew how but when I saw that my friends didn't, I stopped because I didn't want to appear different.

Another thing is that I discovered is smelling things that no one else can. The first time was when I was three years old. My grandfather who smoked a pipe had died at that time. I kept telling my parents that I smell smoke in my bedroom. A friend who smoked a pipe came for a visit and I told my mom that this is what I was smelling in my room. I was only four at the time. Occasionally I have this happen to me. I also have prophetic dreams but again not often.

I have visions (especially in altered states, such as meditation, hypnagogic, hypnopompic) and my most spontaneous gift seems to be remote viewing, which is in fact astral travel. Namely when I think of a person, after a while of focus, the first thing happening is that I will be in the room with them, see, hear, smell, feel them, and also hear/know their thoughts, if I go further. It's spontaneous, it also came with the Saturn return. That's scary and wonderful, and of course, makes one think about questions of privacy too, at least I am. Privacy is rather important to me.
The flashes then can be directed towards past/future, if I want, and see the past and future.
I can also receive clear, spoken answers to questions during meditation (I ask something, and after a while, receive (hear) the spoken answer). Sometimes, instead of a spoken answer, I get a flash, a cryptic image I need to decipher. It's interesting why this happens. I think it is a beautiful metaphor about the fact that someone needs to acquire a new language, a code, and also use their mind and heart to receive the message, it is not always straightforward. Or maybe because I am a visual artist, and image is my language. Or it's because sometimes Ajna is more active (the eye, the vision channel), sometimes Sahasrara is fully opened (which allows for clairaudience). I love the cryptic images, they are magnificent, and decoding them, rather than the straight answers, hence my interest in symbol interpretation.

@intuitivefish: The aspect of just knowing sounds really interesting to me. Do you get a feel of people through their words or is it sight that appeals to you more?

@ILP: I def feel like you're an empathic reader. So, I guess my question is... are the cards more of a support factor to hone your intuition?

The remote viewing is spectacular, indeed. Do you use it in your card readings? Also, do you find that readings differ a great deal from one to another, perhaps because of the connection or because you are being directed to help someone or pass a message on?

@ Poochy, love your account of the warm hands. So, healing was your forte in a previous life, I expect. Great that you are now manifesting this ability. Your ability to smell scents of spirits makes you CLAIRSCENT. I think that is an ability related to the 1st chakra.

I've always been psychic, but struggled with it in my younger years. I come from a long line of psychic women actually. As a child, I had imaginary friends , who were in fact, spirit guides. They protected me from MANY things. I also always just "know" things.

I always freak my friends & family out when I see things & say things to them. My dreams are always vivid & prophetic. Many have come true and in the exact context of the dream, but sometimes different people.

I Feel peoples vibes, read their minds, Clairvoyant mostly. I will meet someone and right away I know their story, it's weird. LIke I know if they had a rough childhood just by looking at them. I really can't explain it, just a knowing.

I can see peoples true motives, which has led me to be more of a introvert as I've gotten older. Harder to trust people when you smell their true feelings . (Jealousy, anger, lies). I always know the truth, only time I get duped is in love! I tend to wear rose colored glasses in regards to my love life, but that's neptune in my chart and my moon in Pisces. OH- I might also add that Moon in Pisces is one of the most psychic indications in a persons chart...other factors as well, but that one is big.

I have learned how to shut it off now, which has ben helpful . I used to have panic attacks in large crowds becasue I would become overloaded with other peoples energy. The list goes on & on....

When reading at a distance, such as for someone on LL, can you sense all those things you've mentioned, such as knowing the person etc., or does that happen only when you see someone face to face?

I can sense a lot, sometimes I choose to stay away and keep my mouth shut UNLESS someone asks me something specifically. I don't always need to see someone face to face, although that does make it stronger, naturally. I live by the motto "Do no harm, but take no s*it!" LOL

I meditate every morning actually, and before each time I read...(I do have clients, I read part time professionally, yes) I also keep an arsenal of crystals and meditate with those as well. I put a bubble of white light around me every day visually, and I picture myself as a tree, grounding myself to the earth before I read.

AND- I have a rule. If I am in a bad place emotionally or sick and not feeling well , I won't use my abilities. I just won't.
