What does it mean when this comes up in a reading? Arguing with someone who always tries to get the last word (even though the conversation is going no where). What would it mean if that person sees you as the 5 of swords when they are constantly trying to prove a point that doesn't need to be proven?

I think there are two possibilities:
He probably thinks that you communicate your thoughts in an aggresive way, which leads to arguments, and he feels at a loss with you.
Or it is you the one who feels like he's losing the battle because of his eagerness to win.
But most probably you interchange roles, right?

You know when you're having a discussion with someone, and when they disagree with you they try to change the topic and start making fallible statements just to get the last word?

Thats what he does lol. He hears something he doesn't like then he tries to challenge it, but the only thing he does is end up confusing himself because he strays off topic. Then he tries to get the last word and when he doesn't he eventually gives up.

I see. People like this are very difficult to talk to. Is he a friend of yours? If he is not then you can always keep your distance..

He's an old friend. But I feel he may not be for long. Im going through a transition in my life and certain people are being left behind.
