I've had beautiful spreads too. And yes they were true.

Maybe you felt like it was too good to be true. But it's not. It's the truth.

If some truths can be bad, then why some truths cannot be good too?

We ask questions like "will it be ok?" Because we are unsure of the future. We don't like the fact that we don't know the future. So the future can make us nervous and excited at the same time. Sometimes the feeling of uncertainty can be too much and we look for something that can help feed the thirst of knowledge about the future.

Tarot cards help do that. But when we get addicted to it, even tarot cards can't help us anymore.

You know they say that the reason for addictions to anything is the fear of something. Addiction is the act of avoiding our fear. And the addiction to tarot cards is the act of avoiding the fear of uncertainty.

I'm also addicted to tarot cards. There are things that I hated not being certain about. But now tarot cards can't help me anymore. They made me realize that they can only do so much. And I thank my tarot cards for teaching me that.

Just wanted to say.

Ah thank you for this dear Spica You've articulated a lot of why tarot can be so helpful yet detrimental at the same time. I have a very "fixed" natal chart so I feel incredibly nervous whenever I'm unsure of something or when my life is on the brink of change. It's hard for me to just "go with the flow" of the universe - a bad habit to have, because our world is constantly in flux.

Addiction to tarot is a very real and serious thing.. I think that's why so many wonderful readers come and go on this great board here on LL. I've personally banned myself from pulling a spread more than once a week. It's too easy to get lost in the "message" of the cards instead of living day to day and trusting in the process of the universe.

Thank you for your words and experiences

I'm glad you understood what I meant

I think that if we deal with the fear, the addiction will go away. It's better than resisting the addiction. Resisting something can make it worse.

Teal Swan's video about dealing with worry (which is almost the same thing as fear of uncertainty) I find it really helpful. Maybe this video can help you or others with tarot addiction.
