My husband and I are going to our first marriage counseling session tonight. Can someone please do a reading for me on how that will go?

Thanks in advance. I'm a little nervous about it.

It's going to go okay. I feel that you'll learn more about what to expect and how it all works. You're not going to get far into the marital issues yet so there won't be a lot of pressure that way. I think you and hubby will talk about it afterwards to see if you want to go again.

Initially it seems that you both are going to be slightly closed off and a bit on the defensive. It would be good to remind yourself that this is your partner, not your opponent . I think as soon as you are both able to let down your defenses a bit more you will be able to cut through some dividing energies. towards the end, I see positivity in terms of remembering some aspects of what brought you together in the first place; nostalgia. Know that behind that initial divide and nervousness there is a calmness and connectedness for the two of you, so do your best to let go of that need to defend or blame (even in minute ways)... It will all be good Let us know! sending love

Thank you for the readings!

It went ok, we really just talked about why we were there and what we are both hoping to get out of it. We got into a little bit of our issues but nothing too deep so we'll see how next week goes. I think my husband (hopefully) got more out of it than I did, I went to therapy on my own last year so she just reminded me of what I already knew about myself and what I need to work on.

It's going to be a long road if our marriage is going to be fixed at this point.

honey, it is ALWAYS a long road.... fixing a marriage is long, dissolving a marriage is long too, breaking up is long... just keep fighting. As someone that has come out of a divorce, I am over 2 years past my separation and it is STILL hard. Had I had a husband willing to do therapy, I would have much rather taken that route! It is long and tedious, but you are trying and you are trying together and that is a lovely thing!

Yes, breaking up a marriage can be just as difficult as staying in one. Keeping you in my prayers!
