This could indicate that the Keys are at a church/religious place or it's in a location that you rarely go to (even far distance *30+ miles is far lol*).
Since the horary question was asked with me in mind, could this relate to a place that I myself rarely go? If that is the case, it makes perfect sense, bc I've gone to his work less than 3 times since he has been with this company. In addition to it being 30+ mile like you stated as well.
Was there any place that you went to during the trip that was not a place you usually travel to? or is there a church/place of worship that you could have lost the keys? Possibly near a university/college even private school?
His trade requires him to go to a different address everyday, sometimes more than one. He said of the two jobs and the convenience store, none were located near any of the above locations...at least not visibly near them. BUT he did go out into his bosses field when he came back later that day for more supplies. He actually chased his bosses neighbors turkey through the field, so they guy could gather her clutch of new hatchling's. There all farmers out where his boss lives, lol.
Mars is also conjunct with ascendent.
So you are actively seeking it or it could be because you two were rushing and this allowed it to become lost.
We are definitely actively looking for these keys...he spent two hours after work yesterday, two hours this morning, and an hour after work today. These keys are vital for our family. Alot rides on us finding them. Mars on the ascendant-- ironically this happened BC he was rushing and frustrated with a coworker who rides with him to work normally, but caused them to be late for an inspection. Mars is exactly where he belongs for this chart, lol. My husband also has his natal mars at 14* Sag as well as my natal Uranus... His is in the 6th house, my uranus is at the end of my 4th house sextile my natal Jupiter in Aqua, hmm...

Jupiter is also the ruler of your first house.
Jupiter (keys) is squaring with saturn. So I think yes, you will find the keys but with difficulty.
Saturn is also dark and cold places. So tell him or yourself to look around in dark places int he ares you lost it.
