Ah you got a kitty I'm thinking your kitty could be a Gemini. That would make her/him very affectionate one minute with wanting to snuggle on your lap and then the next preferring his/her own bed. He/she will need lots of toys for stimulation and will be very playful as they get bored easily. It's best that he/she is an outdoor cat so he/she can explore. Have fun!
