Your post touched me, I'm really sorry you're in pain. Here is what I pulled. I hope it can ease you a little bit:

2 swords
chariot
the moon
ace of cups

I think M is pulled in two different directions in terms of feelings. There are romantic ones brewing, but I noticed on the first three cards there is a lot of moon symbolism. There is a half moon on 2 swords, the chariot has two crescent moon type thingys on his shoulders and the moon, well is the moon.

I wonder if its more the fact that feelings are waxing and waning in light of the past maybe? Because you know how we don't actually remember memories correctly according to psychology.

Also in the first three cards there are 2 of everything- two swords, two sphinxes and 2 tower things in the moon card and two dogs aswell. There is a feeling of being separated, but connected. I think M feels this and is trying to focus on something else to take their mind off it, or at least that is the advice. Both of you seem focused on this "dream"...or idea anyway, but life, or by your own faults, keep putting something in between you- own thoughts, ambitions or elusive dreams.
I think his feelings are reciprocated but ultimately rest assured that "this too will pass", as in the longing. If this love is meant to be nurtured, to happen and blossom then it will

Oh yes I understood you were in different countries, the cards pertained to this too but since the question was about feelings it could have been metaphorical too.
