I'm looking for a bit of insight into what Saturn is affecting, and perhaps some insight into a career path.

I'm hoping to move to LA to get into acting. (Not like "I'm gonna be a STAR!" but mostly because it's what I love doing, and I'd be happy to make a career out of bit parts.)

Any insight would be really appreciated!

I'm assuming you know basic astrology. Forgive me if any of this is difficult to follow.

I can see how you might love acting. Many actors have their suns conjunct, or aspecting, the ascendant. Your sun is quincunx the ASC. Because your sun is in the secretive 8th house, you may feel that one way for you to put yourself out there and be seen is under the guise of legitimate costuming, or by taking on another personality altogether.

Your have so many quincunxes in your chart! Well, I think the quincunx is an energy that you have to very consciously work with: to the extent that you stay aware, it works like a trine. If you slack off, it devolves into a square.

Your ambitious Capricorn MC is conjunct Neptune, so shape-shifting a la Neptune could really be your business. It's a matter of, do you have the willpower to try and make it in a tough business? Your Neptune-MC is quincunx Mars, showing great possibility if you apply yourself.

You have domicile 5H Leo Mars, which can be really excellent at applying force in the right place and the right time. Also, Leo Mars has greater ego needs than many other placements. Even the shy Leo Mars people have this light that cannot be suppressed, and life tends to reward you when you shine that light. I cannot guarantee success but it's clear why this line of business appeals to you.

Venus is your chart ruler and your Venus is on the DSC, so I'm guessing you are good looking. Venus rules your moon, which is in the 6H, showing a desire to do all it takes, in a meticulous, Virgo/6H type way. With your moon quincunx 6H Saturn, you may have some issues with emotional stability. Sometimes you may feel VERY solid and power through all obstacles like a machine. Other times you may not feel so great: Pisces Saturn issues weigh on you. You may be so socially sensitive that you lose some of your mojo and don't quite feel like playing the role of *star*

This is especially true with your sun square Saturn as well. Your Sag sun wants to shine and bounce around and LIVE, and yet Saturn is always telling you to check, double and triple check the reasoning for it. Ultimately it's making you wiser and stronger, it just doesn't feel the greatest as you go through the process.

Your north node is in Scorpio, your sun is widely conjunct Pluto, your sun is in the 8th house. You have that beautiful conjunction of Mercury-Jupiter-Pluto, giving you a fantastic ability to put across meaning, with your voice and style.

To the extent that you can channel all your depth and hardship into your line of work, calling upon your Mercury's innate gift of expression, and integrating your spiritual life with your work life (that's a hallmark of Cap Neptune on the MC, as well), I think you will succeed, no matter what. Sometimes these efforts will play out materially, and sometimes, I think, romantically (noticing your 7H stellum.)

I never really gave much thought to the quincunxes in my chart before, so your insight on those aspects is really interesting! I'll definitely have to do some more digging in my own time on those aspects.

I believe it's largely my Saturn square my Sun that I've been struggling the most with over the past few years. I've been trying to follow the structured path that I've been constantly advised to take, trying to ensure I always have back-up plans, and working incredibly hard to do everything the "right" way.

Due to a controlling father sabotaging the few things I need to rely on him for, years and years of work seem to be just turning into my spinning my wheels, stuck in the same place. And in the meantime, despite all of my work, I'm still feeling like I'm not able to pursue any of the things I want from my life. So much effort and every bit of progress gets ripped away.

That's why I'm looking to ditch what people have been telling me to do (clearly, it's not working!), and move cross-country to do it the old-fashioned way.

So if my challenge is a matter of perseverance, that's the one thing I've got in spades!

The one nice thing I've found about my Scorpio NN is that - perhaps because I have such a Scorpio/8H/Pluto-heavy chart - I have never been one to shy away from or be uncomfortable with my NN. I hope that as a fellow Scorpio NN folk, you feel the same way.
