It should get easier as you learn to deal with the lessons that your Saturn is trying to teach you. Saturn transiting any part of your chart is not easy but if you can look at it as something to learn vs the bringer of pain and turmoil , it will make things a lot smoother process while it is transiting.

Right now Saturn is in my 3rd and will go into my 4th at the end of the yr according to Western astrology. The last few years I kinda opened up talking about my my thoughts on things and a lot of other things which is normally outside my character.

My progressed moon was also running threw Aquarius which brought out in me the need to do something humanitarian. So I used communication as means to bring about a reform in human relations thus working on communication skills 3rd house issues and fulfilling my moon progression of my 5th house Aquarious humanitarian effort while bringing to show the original me by expressing my thoughts on things which I normally keep to myself.

I laughed at myself a lot because I already have venus in Gemini conjunct my MC and you open up the door for communication for that??? Aquarius moon progression that allowed me to really not give a crap about what anyone thought about it either.

Also found my life purpose, nodal return and other interesting things about myself during the last 2 years.

I guess we can take Saturn transits as a handicap allowing it to limit us or learning to work with the energy so we can accomplish whatever we want to do in life. ( I got this from KRS astrology and it makes a lot of sense to me) Kinda like runners who lose a leg but use the prostetic leg and still run, not allowing it to hold them back.

I am not the best a reading charts and do better looking at them written out, then can look to your progressed moon and house, use vedic astrology and various other sources to kinda peg exactly what it going on. I am still a beginner at astrology as I have only been studying it for a few years but I can see what I can find and let you know.

First what you are trying to accomplish in this lifetime is to indulge yourself in simple pleasures rather than grand extravagances. Your challenge is to release the preoccupation with being in control. You can find success if you can manage your workaholic tendencies and give in to the impulse of being more relaxed and playful. Learning to concentrate on what you have vs concentrating on what you don't have. You are learning how to play in this lifetime, try not to over identify yourself with an over ridged parent or restrictiveness . It may be hard for you to let go of your own power base for a more spiritual and peaceful life.

For your Saturn in Sagittarius, usually this is the best place for saturn because your saturn is basically just learning lessons. You would rather be free having fun but saturn will force you to learn lessons. ( western astrology) Saturn in the 4th can show a restrictive home , isolation and an unhappy childhood which can prevent someone in later life allowing someone to get close to them.

Your 4th house is also is in Scorpio and Sag. in Vedic astrology your 4th house is in Jysethia nastakra. This means the umbrella. Saturn in this means court cases, jealous mentality , cheating, incurable diseases, illicit relations and average education.( vedic is harsh sometimes) It can make someone prone to seeing things in a bleak manner, confused mentality , paranoid and also one who will bite if they feel threatened. Seems like your life is on it's soul track if what I am seeing is right, this saturn is there to instill the seriousness that you are learning to let go of. Life just wants you to loosen up and have fun, don't take things so personal from others and learn to have fun with the ups and downs. If nobody is dyeing, messing with your money, kids\family , taxes and bills then it is not worth worrying over. Creating a philosophy of some kind helps, this would be the spiritual thing: for ex: I always tell others to allow people close to you means to be vulnerable. There are other things that could aspect your Saturn and could give you a full out education. I did not focus on other parts of your chart, just that of your Saturn Return etc.
So yes, it seems that your family is just over protective as you just want to be set free to fly as you wish in life. At 30 , I can understand how you would be feeling as I am 37 and still have issues with people trying to control things in my life. I think on a spiritual note, this is real love and nothing wrong with being loved yet, at the same time you should be allowed to do the things in life that you wish to do. Just have to explain to people that you love them dearly and appreciate the love and concern they give yet, you wish to live life , seeing and doing all that you want to . You only live once. Your family is probably very practical and just want you to focus on school and career , the things that get you ahead in life. These things are fine but also enjoying life is important as well.

Yes I know I am different from my family. I've always kind of felt that way. It's probably because of the Uranus aspects in my chart. I'm not so conventional really I've accepted that about myself. My parents have always been protective of me. And I do appreciate them for doing so especially when I was a kid. But now it's overwhelming I know they mean well. I guess they just worry and don't want anything to happen to me. But they can't protect me forever one day they won't be here.
