My abusive ex husband fired his lawyer, 15 hours before our court case tomorrow.this gives us a chance to be able to complete the hearing TOMORROW if the judge decides! please I have been shaking for the past 15 min. all the years of his abuse and control could be over tomorrow.... any insights? i had an energetic reaction of uncontrollable shaking for almost 15 minutes, I've never experienced this before... this is so intense for me you guys!IP: Logged |

I'm actually not nervous at all! The shaking was a weird physical response but wasn't related to emotions. I think it was a release of RELIEF because he's losing his **** ..My lawyer thinks there is now a good chance the case may go on tomorrow! Prior to this, there was almost no chance. IP: Logged |

Omg! it went really well... Slightly complicated to explain, but I will..Basically, my ex was initially intending to go in today to request an evidentiary hearing; which is a hearing that has to be scheduled months in advanced and is a full day hearing where we have to pay thousands for all of our doctors, therapists, etc, to come testify... It's very tedious, expensive, and would draw things out and potentially prevent me from moving on August 1st. SO, as you guys know, he fired his lawyer. My ex did not show up, but he called in. Because he was representing himself today, my ex asked for a continuance instead of an evidentiary hearing, which just pushes the 20 minute hearing back a week or two. The judge told him this is the ONLY time he will be able to push the case back- meaning he is now unable to request an evidentiary hearing (great news!) The judge also gave me permission to move! Which almost makes the case obsolete (how is he gonna have visits if he is 2 states away?) I also know that the judge is on my side, she was very kind and accommodating and even apologized for having to push to case back. IP: Logged |
