I think at first he could act a little bit on the defensive. But ultimately, from his part, is all about being fair AND being mature, Sh*t happens and it's up to us to make something out of it, would be the way he thinks. So he will probably ask for forgiveness, since it is just fair and his main goal is to make peace with you.

He has a pretty mature view about this situation and, even though he doesn't feel quite right with it, he knows he has done bad. So he just wants to let go and let a God, but for that to happen he knows he has to come to an agreement with you.
