On Friday, I was sick and text my ex J. I told him jokingly that I may be pregnant by a ghost or could have gotten food poisoning. I said the ghost thing as a joke, but was serious about the food poisoning. Today at work, he seemed unlike himself, but asked me if I were feeling better. I told him that i was so-so, and he told me that he didn’t think it was food poisoning. I didn’t say anything in response to it and eventually later he revealed to me that he was grumpy and that something happened over the weekend but he wouldn’t tell me what it was. I asked did it happen yesterday or today and he said no, and then I asked if it were over the weekend and he said yes. I asked him if it were me or if he got into it with someone else and he said no. Eventually before he left work, I joked about my boobs to him lol and he said mentioned something about me being pregnant, but I explained to him that I wasn’t and that the last person I was with was him and how that was meant to be a joke that i made on Friday, but probably a poor one since he didn’t seem to catch on. He didn’t say anything else, and I told him that I’ll see him tomorrow before he drove off, but it did make me wonder if that’s why he was in a grumpy mood.

I was wondering if someone could tell me that’s he what thought and that’s why he could have been grumpy or was it really something else? Either way, I just found that interesting and wanted to see what someone else thought about it.

How did he respond to the text about being pregnant... cause maybe since you know him better you can tell if something is bothering him and of course how your relationship with him is so you know if he can take a joke like that, I don’t think there’s a reason to be mad about that though, specially cause it was a joke since you mentioned by a ghost.

Yes it was the pregnancy thing, but moreso the fact that he's thinking that you must be ******* someone else to even joke about being pregnant

He didn’t respond on Friday to that part, he just hoped that I got better. I do feel he was grumpy because of that, but I figured he would know that I’m joking because he already knows how I am but he is the type that if he thinks something he’ll convince himself of all the possibilities of it happening and he will believe it’s true (he’ll do with without confirming if it’s true).

I kinda figured but wasn’t certain. He should have known I was joking 😑 but I guess that shows he still has feelings that he is trying to hide or pretend he doesn’t have.
