I think you will have to intuitively pick up on tones and things of that nature to make it go well. The hanged man suggests going with the flow to pick up on how he is doing and communicating. There is an opportunity for something good to come out of it, but it may be awkward in general. Is one of you really bound to the other for advancement? I see just going with the flow and attuning yourself to him, that is how it will go, as the ace of cups can also be a card of intuition. Sync yourself to his moods and such.
