My questions are what goes on between L(female, older, acquaintance) and B (the same dude); and what goes on between J (his girlfriend, female, older, stranger) and B?

L and B are romantic partners, B is in a really horrible situation and feels scared because of something unexpected that happened in the past. L can't help B feel better, she actually makes him feel worse about it. It seems like L has the upper hand in the relationship with B.

T is unsure of what to think towards L; she isn't certain about his character and feels a suspicion towards it. I'd venture to say she distrusts him. She is holding back her feelings towards him and responding towards him with coldness and sharpness. I can see that she challenges him and gets into arguments with him a lot. She considers herself more intelligent and grounded than him while he is, I can assume, is the opposite of that. There are many aspects of his person that she doesn't like and looks down on.

I can she still talks to him, though. She enjoys talking to him because.. I guess, a mutual interest in something. It looks like she expects something out of him but I can't tell what. Are they business partners, coworkers, students, ect? That is the reason why she's holding on with him even if her feelings are less than favorable. She is fair still, and considers his partnership a contribution to whatever she's doing.

What I'm seeing she desires something out of him, is it romance? It is a selfish kind of, overbearing type however. She wants to warm up to him and have him warm up to her, and show herself more to him. She wants him to know her more down to earth emotionally sensitive side so he can get to know and like her. He wants her to notice the things she's prideful of and praise her for it.

She has long periods where she doesn't talk to him, and takes break from talking to him, I think lately she has been coming off more calm and not as arrogant as she usually is. She learns a lot from him and studies his character.

It looks like he will end up liking her in two weeks, seeing a side of her he hasn't seen before. I don't think there will be an overwhelming attraction of the romantic or sexual sort but he will start seeing her smarts in a positive way. She will prove something to him and impress him in a manner he likes.

Between J and B, it's the same thing. But it's also that B dislikes J. J is not the ideal girlfriend that B likes. J has her as his girlfriend because he thought she is in a powerful position. But he feels powerless to her and in the situation he's in. He is really emotionally disturbed right because of both L and J. Something horrible happened with him regarding these relationships. B thinks that he is powerless and B and J have all the power right now. And he is scared of them and in the situation he's in right now.
