What it's saying is the two of you are very different people and have different ideas as to how things are going to work out. There would be some clashes along the way but you two ultimately want to achieve the same goal or resolution of some sort. One of you especially would be more defensive. Ok you feel like you've been lied to and wrapped the wool over your eyes and you still do. You aren't seeing things clearly right now.

Your boss doesn't feel good about what happened either. Actually it's effecting them worse than it is you. It was something dishonorable, maybe illegal,or amoral. It's secret and kept under wraps.

Anyway, I suspect you will end up switching jobs or your boss will end up being replaced/resigning.
The whole situation will confuse you and live you lost at words but it will be good for the both of you.
