I think he sees you as interesting, unique, alluring somewhat. You guys may communicate or share ideas well and he feels understood(as in he doesn’t feel the need to explain his quirks or actions and to others he does somehow. He thinks you have something that many people like and I think it’s that you two may be compatible like friends or associates not romantically bc I think he thinks more of himself. He thinks about the possibility of pursuing a romantic relationship, but he’s not sure. Something is stopping him maybe past issues. I feel like it’s slightly pessimistic on his side like telling himself “not right now” “maybe” “is this worth it” etc. W you he’s going off his gut I don’t think he’s used to it, hence the rumination
